GWM Plans to invest RMB 100 billion in R&D targeting new energy

The 8th Technology Festival was hosted at GWM’s headquarters in Baoding. GWM Chairman Jack Wei stressed during the inauguration ceremony that next-generation clean energy-driven smart automobiles would be the new pattern in future automobile industry development.

GWM intends to invest RMB 100 billion in R&D for NEVS and smart vehicles over the next five years, providing more environmentally friendly, smarter, and safer products for worldwide users.

Official reports demonstrate that in the field of new energy, GWM’s “Dayu” power battery eliminates fire and explosion when the cells of various chemical systems experience thermal runaway, assuaging consumers’ concerns about the safety of electric vehicles. In the field of hybrid power, GWM’s development of the world’s first L.E.M.O.N. hybrid DHT enables oil-to-electricity switching based on scene intelligence, allowing for fuel savings of up to 50% in urban situations. In highway driving circumstances, the higher the vehicle’s speed, the greater the fuel-saving rate. In the realm of hydrogen energy, GWM has created a cathode air cleaner with four air filter elements, including activated carbon and synthetic fibre, to protect fuel cells. The cathode air cleaner can effectively absorb and filter dangerous compounds, extending the life of the fuel power system. Its self-developed hydrogen management system actively checks the system’s safety to ensure the overall safety of vehicles and people while optimizing the hydrogen storage system’s valve and pipeline structure.

GWM advocates for the upgrade of “COFIS Intelligence” from version 1.0 to version 2.0. It features a brand-new GEEP electronic and electrical architecture, as well as an intelligent wire-controlled chassis that supports L4 level automatic driving. It also encourages the integration and upgrades of intelligent cockpit, intelligent driving, and intelligent services, allowing GWM vehicles to serve as smart travel terminals in more than 40 scenarios. The steering wheel of the GWM iNest 2.0 intelligent cockpit, for example, may be moved to the left, center, or right side of the dashboard, and the seat can be rotated 360 degrees, allowing the meeting mode to be activated at any moment. The first in-car collagen beautification system promotes skin health. The vehicle-mounted oxygen generator serves both domestic and medical oxygen generation needs. The GWM IOT connectivity technology also enables car-home interconnection, voice control of intelligent devices at home, and other features that provide users a more complete “car-life.”
