Clean energy developer Pure Hydrogen has signed a binding collaboration and licensing agreement with French technology company Plenesys to commercialize that company’s HyPlasma process as part of plans to produce turquoise hydrogen.
The collaboration begins with a pilot plant in Brisbane, which will be operational within the next 12 months, followed by commercial-scale modules in Australia, Asia-Pacific and sub-Saharan Africa.
Pure Hydrogen said Monday that the company has built significant experience in producing hydrogen by methane pyrolysis, which in combination with HyPlasma would use Plenesys’ patented A/C plasma burner to convert methane to hydrogen and create value-added solid carbon products.
Under the terms of the agreement, Pure Hydrogen would have exclusive rights to market the HyPlasma process in Australia and other countries in Southeast Asia and Southern Africa for an initial period of ten years with options to extend this exclusivity period and add new regions.
