The European Hydrogen Congress 2022, to be held from May 18 to 20 in Madrid, will be supported by more than 35 sponsors, as well as the collaboration of international and national reference entities, such as Hydrogen Europe (HE), the International Energy Agency (IEA), the Institute for Energy Diversification and Saving (IDAE) and the Community of Madrid, among others.
The Congress expects to receive more than 450 attendees from more than 40 countries around the world. The Honorary Committee of the European Hydrogen Energy Conference (EHEC) 2022 will be chaired by King Felipe VI.
The European reference congress in the hydrogen sector (EHEC 2022) arrives in Madrid by the hand of the Spanish Hydrogen Association (AeH2) and is expected to show the latest technological, scientific, technical and strategic advances in the sector.
The event, included in the Hydrogen Roadmap: a commitment to renewable hydrogen (document approved by the Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge), is one of the initiatives proposed to position Spain as a country of reference at European level in technologies related to green hydrogen.
EHEC 2022, which is to become the scientific, technical and strategic congress of reference at European level, will have in this edition more than two hundred speakers, “who will present,” reports AeH2, “their most relevant projects, development strategies, the latest technological advances and the most innovative research related to hydrogen technologies.
They will do so through up to four plenary sessions, as well as in several parallel sessions and poster sessions that the organizers have scheduled. In addition, EHEC 2022 is also a trade fair, where more than 50 exhibitors will present their latest products, projects and services.
Javier Brey, president of AeH2 and president of the organizing committee of EHEC 2022: “EHEC 2022 is a clear demonstration of the commitment to green hydrogen in Spain. Hydrogen technologies and projects are essential to decarbonize the Spanish economy and to advance in the energy transition. Undoubtedly, hydrogen is presented as a great opportunity for our country, which has the necessary business fabric for its development and implementation, as well as a great production potential. Spain has the opportunity to play a leading role in hydrogen at international level. The country’s high renewable resource allows covering local needs and being able to export the surplus. The Hydrogen Economy will bring with it the generation of employment, greater economic development and energy security”.
