The first Power-to-X (PtX) facility for European Energy will be operational in Esbjerg municipality during the first half of 2023.
Green hydrogen will be produced at the plant for use by both maritime clients in Esbjerg Harbor and Danish industrial consumers. DIN Forsyning has contracted European Energy to remove waste heat from its manufacturing processes. In the initial stages, this extra heat is enough to warm 200 typical homes.
Connected straight to Made’s massive windmills, this facility is ideal for harnessing their power. Only renewable energy produced in the area is used. Therefore, the surplus heat that DIN Forsyning absorbs is even more environmentally benign. In a few years, the plant should be ready for an expansion. The result is an increase in the amount of hydrogen and waste heat that can be supplied.
