Amogy, a pioneer in mature, scalable, and efficient ammonia-to-power solutions, has received an order from Terox to integrate its proprietary technology into construction sites.

The pilot project aims to determine the potential of ammonia-based power systems for on-site, uninterrupted power generation, a stark alternative to environmentally damaging diesel generators or grid connections. By partaking in this venture, Terox cements its place as a forerunner in decarbonizing a traditionally challenging sector. This initiative also underscores the potential of ammonia as an alternative fuel source, enabled by Amogy’s technology.

Amogy plans to install a 400 kW containerized solution in a 20ft container at the construction sites. The system generates off-grid electricity to charge a battery bank, which further powers a mobile supercharger responsible for charging Terox’s electric fleet of heavy-duty construction vehicles.

Amogy’s technology is designed around a unique ammonia cracking system that separates ammonia into its base elements – hydrogen and nitrogen. The hydrogen subsequently enters the fuel cell to create clean electricity to charge the batteries. Amogy’s technology does not produce carbon emissions, therefore, marking a significant advance in renewable power generation.
