Andalusian Hydrogen Cluster and JETRO, the foreign promotion agency of the Japanese Government, have solidified their partnership in the green hydrogen sector.

The memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed between the entities aims to foster the exchange of knowledge, experiences, technology, and best practices, marking a pivotal moment in the ongoing efforts to drive sustainable hydrogen initiatives.

The collaboration was formalized during a trade mission organized by the Government of Japan, with the participation of the Board of Andalusia. The event provided a platform for Andalusian companies in the green hydrogen sector to engage in commercial discussions with a 26-member Japanese delegation representing various companies in the energy and hydrogen domain. The shared goal is to facilitate meaningful business connections and explore potential collaborations and alliances for upcoming green hydrogen projects.

The signing ceremony was graced by the presence of the extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador of Japan in Spain, Takahiro Nakamae, and Jorge Paradela, the Minister of Industry, Energy, and Mines. This diplomatic backing underscores the strategic importance of the collaboration in advancing green hydrogen technologies and solutions.

Andalusia has positioned itself as a global reference in the field of green hydrogen, making the collaboration with Japanese counterparts particularly significant. The exchange of expertise and the pooling of resources will likely contribute to the acceleration of green hydrogen projects, aligning with both regions’ commitment to sustainable energy practices.

The meeting also facilitated commercial interactions between Andalusian and Japanese companies, creating a platform for the exploration of potential business opportunities. As the green hydrogen sector continues to evolve, fostering international partnerships becomes crucial for addressing challenges and maximizing the impact of sustainable initiatives.

As part of the collaborative agenda, the Japanese delegation is scheduled to attend the First National Green Hydrogen Congress in Huelva from February 7 to 9. This event not only provides a showcase for the latest advancements in the sector but also serves as a focal point for international collaboration. Andalucía TRADE has organized a trade mission concurrently, with representatives from 12 countries participating, emphasizing the global significance of green hydrogen initiatives.
