GAIL to launch its first green hydrogen project in India by April GAIL (India), which controls India’s massive natural gas infrastructure for transmission, marketing, and distribution, would launch its first green hydrogen project in central India by April. India’s clean energy goals have advanced with this development. The project is in Madhya Pradesh’s Vijaipur complex. An imported 10-megawatt Canadian proton exchange membrane (PEM) electrolyser will produce green hydrogen. Renewable electricity powers PEM electrolysis, which divides water into hydrogen and oxygen.
