DR Powertrain System, a German-Chinese system integrator, and ElringKlinger and Plastic Omnium’s joint venture, EKPO Fuel Cell Technologies, have agreed to collaborate on the development of fuel cell systems using EKPO stacks for the Chinese market. DR Powertrain Systems plans to use the German stacks in both automotive and non-automotive systems made by local manufacturers. In an effort to make Portsmouth International Port the UK’s first zero-emissions maritime hub, Cox Marine, a British diesel technology innovator, has joined the SHAPE UK consortium. Australia’s BlueScope Steel and Shell Energy Operations have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to explore and develop renewable hydrogen projects at BlueScope’s Port Kembla Steelworks in New South Wales. Using a 10MW pilot-scale renewable hydrogen electrolyser, BlueScope’s Port Kembla Steelworks will investigate and test the use of green hydrogen in its blast furnace. Green hydrogen production will be investigated by Infinity Lithium and Thyssenkrupp in a joint effort. The partnership will begin with a pilot project at a Thyssenkrupp plant in Germany to evaluate the potential of hydrogen as a substitute fuel for rotary kilns, using the industrial group’s hydrogen burner installation.
