The first large-scale green hydrogen production facility in the Benelux region has been granted building and environmental licenses by VoltH2. The 25 MW green hydrogen plant of VoltH2 can produce up to 3,500 tonnes of green hydrogen per year, scalable up to 100 MW, and is strategically located in the North Sea Port Vlissingen, within an industrial cluster and close to existing high voltage power and gas infrastructure as well as large renewable power assets for the supply of green electrons (14,000 tonnes). An access point for the planned European Hydrogen Backbone – a dedicated hydrogen infrastructure criss-crossing Europe –…

With the signing of a cooperative development agreement, Air Liquide and Faurecia will design and manufacture heavy-duty vehicle on-board liquid hydrogen storage systems. The two companies hope to hasten the adoption of zero-emission heavy-duty mobility by collaborating on cutting-edge technologies. In order to hasten the transition to carbon neutrality, liquid hydrogen storage for fuel cell vehicles plays a critical role. The amount of hydrogen stored using this approach is two times greater than the amount stored using gaseous hydrogen. As a result, liquid hydrogen-powered heavy duty trucks can go twice as far as gaseous hydrogen-powered vehicles, and they do so…

An industrial facility in Chile’s Punta Arenas region will produce almost CO2-neutral fuel (eFuel) in partnership with Porsche and Siemens Energy, as well as a number of other international firms. On this historic day, Chile’s Energy Minister Juan Carlos Jobet presided over the groundbreaking ceremony for this ground-breaking project. When it’s completed in 2022, the Chilean Patagonia pilot plant is planned to produce roughly 130,000 liters of electric fuel per year. Two stages of expansion are planned, with the first taking place in 2024 and the second in 2026, when the capacity will be roughly 55 million liters. Highly Innovative…
