The conversion project for the Royal Boskalis’ new crane vessel Bokalift 2 has started with a steel cutting ceremony that took place at the shipyard Drydocks World in Dubai. This marks the beginning of a new phase in the modification of the vessel’s hull and deck. The conversion scope includes the fabrication and installation of 9,000 tons of steel blocks on both sides of the vessel to increase the stability of the vessel and the installation of a new work deck. Siemens Gamesa has signed a bank guarantee line for up to €600 million to cover the construction of components for Hornsea 2 offshore wind farm. Wärtsilä and Vantaa Energy have signed an agreement on a joint concept feasibility study for a Power-to-Gas facility at Vantaa Energy’s waste-to-energy -plant in the city of Vantaa, Finland. The co-development agreement was signed in May and is valid for 12 months. The Power-to-Gas facility would produce carbon-neutral synthetic biogas using carbon dioxide emissions and electricity generated at the waste-to-energy plant. Strata Solar has completed pre-construction development of its landmark battery project, Ventura Energy Storage (VES), a 100-megawatt, 400-megawatt hour battery energy storage system in unincorporated Ventura County, California.
