Hynion has entered into an agreement to supply hydrogen to buses in Sandviken, Sweden, while also taking over Linde’s hydrogen filling station in Sandviken to provide hydrogen fuel to both buses and cars. With the purchase of the Sandviken hydrogen station, Hynion will become Sweden’s largest supplier of zero-emission hydrogen fuel. The company now has a good starting point for developing the hydrogen market in the transportation sector, with three stations in Gothenburg, Stockholm, and Sandviken. Transdev, a transportation company, recently invested in two hydrogen buses, which will soon be put into regular service on behalf of X-trafik, Sandviken’s public…

TotalEnergies has been welcomed by Masdar to join a Masdar-led effort to produce sustainable aviation fuel from green hydrogen (SAF). On the sidelines of Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW) 2022, Masdar, Siemens Energy, and TotalEnergies signed a collaboration agreement to co-develop a demonstrator plant project at Masdar City, Abu Dhabi’s flagship sustainable urban development. Francois Good, Senior Vice President, Refining and Petrochemicals Africa Middle East and Asia at TotalEnergies, said, “We are very pleased to partner with Masdar and Siemens Energy to meet the challenge of decarbonizing air transport through sustainable aviation fuel from green hydrogen. In this project, TotalEnergies…
A presentation of the SHYNE (Spanish Hydrogen Network) project, Spain’s largest renewable hydrogen consortium, was held at Campus Repsol. As part of an effort to promote renewable hydrogen projects in all sectors of Spain’s economy and to stimulate rapid and effective decarbonization through this energy vector, it brings together 22 companies and 11 associations, technology centers, and universities led by Repsol. Decarbonizing the economy is the ultimate goal of SHYNE’s value chain collaboration between businesses that share the same goal and are willing to put in the time and money to make it happen. In order to achieve this goal,…
Black & Veatch has chosen Next Hydrogen Solutions to be a part of their IgniteX Climate Tech Accelerator. It is hoped that by working together on green hydrogen solutions, Next Hydrogen and Black & Veatch will significantly reduce industrial and transportation sector emissions. The program, which provides funding and support to companies at the forefront of climate technology, selected Next Hydrogen from among nearly 100 applicants. Green hydrogen will be used in industrial applications like ammonia, steel, and cement, as well as transportation applications like heavy mobility and off-highway fleets thanks to a partnership between Black & Veatch and Next…
Woodside Petroleum and Fortescue Metals Group in Australia are working to commercialize hydrogen production as they seek new revenue streams amid growing global decarbonization momentum. Hydrogen is expected to see an increase in demand in the near future. As a carbon-free source of energy, it is widely regarded as a clean alternative. However, the emission of CO2 when it is derived from natural gas or other sources still presents a challenge for its use as an energy source. Australian energy giant Woodside and iron ore producer Fortescue plan to invest more in hydrogen development in the hope that it will…
A comprehensive value chain geared toward a sustainable future is being established by Korea Gas Corporation (Kogas), which has been building its natural gas supply chain in Korea for 39 years. Hydrogen production, supply, and use are all part of Kogas’ value chain, which includes natural gas supply. There are five main goals for Kogas this year as it moves toward carbon neutrality and new green businesses. As part of its long-term strategy to achieve carbon neutrality, the company intends to develop a comprehensive supply and demand strategy that includes new green ventures like LNG cold energy and gas-to-electricity generation.…
NewHydrogen, the creator of a ground-breaking green hydrogen generator that uses renewable energy to produce low-cost green hydrogen, has expanded its green hydrogen development strategy. In addition, the company will devote more resources to research and development in order to reduce the cost of producing green hydrogen. “An electrolyzer — the primary component of a hydrogen generator — is still very expensive,” said David Lee, CEO of NewHydrogen. “We have made great progress with our existing technology developments to replace and reduce the expensive rare earth materials, which represent a significant cost factor. Now, we will widen our focus to…
As part of the energy transition, Eni and Sonatrach have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). As part of the agreement, the two companies will examine potential joint opportunities in a variety of decarbonization-related fields, including renewable energy, hydrogen, CO2 capture, use, and storage, bio-refining, and many more It is in line with Eni’s goal of carbon neutrality by 2050 and Sonatrach’s commitment to a sustainable development and a joint effort to tackle the challenges of the energy transition.
Green hydrogen, produced from renewable electricity, can play a vital role in Ireland’s transition to a net-zero society, boost economy and make energy supply more secure according to a new report published by Wind Energy Ireland. Hydrogen and Wind Energy – The Role of Green Hydrogen in Ireland’s Energy Transition was authored by Gavin and Doherty Geosolutions Ltd. (GDG) on behalf of Wind Energy Ireland, with support from Green Tech Skillnet. It shows how Ireland’s abundant wind energy resources could produce vast quantities of green hydrogen, which can be used to reduce our dependence on the imported fossil fuels that…
bp and Oman’s Ministry of Energy and Minerals signed a Strategic Framework Agreement (SFA) and a Renewables Data Collection Agreement to support the potential development of a multi-gigatonne, world-class renewable energy and green hydrogen development in Oman by 2030. As part of the agreement, bp will collect and analyze data from 8,000km2 of land, which is more than five times the size of Greater London. The evaluation will then assist the Government of Oman in approving future developments of renewable energy hubs in appropriate locations within this area to capitalize on these resources. Renewable energy resources could also provide renewable…
