Falck Renewables North America and Eni New Energy US, through Novis Renewables Holdings (Novis), a partnership with 51% and 49% shares respectively, signed an agreement with Savion to acquire the ready-to-build 30 MWdc (20 MWac) project. Wärtsilä has been selected to supply the engines and related emissions control after-treatment systems for two new passenger ferries being built for operation between Switzerland and France across Lake Geneva. The ferries are being built at the Shiptec yard in Switzerland for General Navigation Company (CGN), a Swiss ferry operator based in Lausanne. Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction and SK Engineering & Construction (SK E&C) have signed a technical cooperation agreement for floating offshore wind farm projects. The two companies agreed to implement a cooperation system for the floating offshore wind farm business carried out by SK E&C. Nel Hydrogen Electrolyser, a division of Nel, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Iberdrola to collaborate in the development of a green hydrogen production plant with the capacity of more than 200 MW in Spain by 2023. Vattenfall has submitted a proposal to Scottish Government for the Musdale wind farm, located approximately 9km south east of Oban in west Scotland. The proposed onshore wind farm could have up to 26 turbines with a combined capacity of 156MW. Musdale will be able to generate an estimated 425,500MWh, enough to power the equivalent of 117,500 homes. Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) has, on behalf of the Australian Government, provided $2.9 million for AGL Energy Services (AGL) to undertake a large scale electric vehicle (EV) charging trial across New South Wales, Queensland, Victoria and South Australia. As part of the $8.25 million trial, AGL will recruit 300 EV owners to demonstrate a range of smart and managed charging solutions. AGL is contributing $5.3 million towards the trial which also involves project partners JET Charge, Chargefox and FlexCharging and a cohort of distribution networks. juwi’s Greek subsidiary has started building Europe’s largest bifacial solar park. The use of bifacial modules increases the energy yield of the 450 hectare Kozani solar park by up to five percent. The regenerative power plant is scheduled to go online at the end of 2021. Becker served as managing director for Germany and head of Offshore Sales and Projects at Siemens Gamesa before leaving the company in early 2020.
