Vestas has secured an 8 MW order of 4 MW platform turbine components that qualify for the 60 percent PTC value. The order was secured from an undisclosed customer. Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy (SGRE) has approved nacelle based wind lidar ‘ZX TM’ from ZX Lidars. The lidar will be used to provide Power Performance Testing on Siemens Gamesa wind turbines. Prior to the approval, Siemens Gamesa tested the new technology together with ZX Lidars. Heerema’s SSCV Sleipnir has completed two jacket foundations installation for Ørsted’s Hornsea 2 wind farm. The work included the transportation and installation of two jackets that will provide the foundation for the Hornsea 2 wind farm’s RCS and OSS platforms. Ørsted’s Hornsea 2 wind farm is located approximately 89 km off the Yorkshire coast in the North Sea, and the project will consist of 165 turbines with a combined total capacity of 1.4 GW. NJR Clean Energy Ventures (NJRCEV) has completed new 1.5 megawatt (MW) ground-mounted solar project at the former municipal landfill. Consisting of nearly 4,000 solar panels, the fixed-tilt array is expected to provide enough clean energy to power 230 homes annually and reduce emissions by 1,435 tons, equal to removing 290 cars from the road each year. The capped landfill has been closed for more than 30 years.
