The Quebec Ministry of Environment and Climate Change has issued Charbone Hydrogène an environmental permission certificate for the production of green hydrogen at the Sorel-Tracy plant. On Monday, June 20, a groundbreaking ceremony was place on the grounds of the port complex, close to the former Hydro-Québec power plant. This environmental authorization will eventually let Charbone to create up to 5,500 MW of green hydrogen for phases 1, 2, and 3. Charbone has also acquired preliminary permissions from the City of Sorel-Tracy for civil works. The factory is situated on roughly 40,000 square meters of property that Charbone has leased…

The University of Sheffield (UoS) is developing a Sustainable Aviation Fuels Innovation Centre (SAF-IC) with financing from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) to support and promote the production and characterization of decarbonized and sustainable aviation fuel. We’re hoping to acquire a proton exchange membrane (PEM) or a solid oxide hydrogen electrolyser to expand and support our significant research, development, and deployment efforts at the center. The Green Hydrogen Creation and Storage Facility project will allow for the production of green hydrogen on-site; while the device will be powered by the mains, the facility’s renewable electricity production potential is substantial.…
