Hexagon Purus has agreed to purchase 40% of the liquid hydrogen business of Cryoshelter. The transaction follows Hexagon Composites’ acquisition of a 40% stake in Cryoshelter’s liquid natural gas (LNG) business. Cryoshelter’s liquid hydrogen tank technology is in its infancy and is based on superior and differentiated LNG technology that delivers greater fuel capacity and longer hold durations (a vital requirement for cryogenic storage) than competitor products. H2X and Trelleborg Municipality have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to develop the city’s first hydrogen high-floor buses and waste truck in collaboration with local energy company Trelleborg Energi. This is another significant step toward zero-emission municipal fleets and cleaner air in the city and surrounding areas. H2FLY, a Stuttgart-based developer of hydrogen fuel cell technologies for aircraft, announced that its demonstrator aircraft, the HY4, set a new world record for hydrogen-powered passenger aircraft last week, flying at an altitude of 7,230 feet and reiterating the company’s position as a leader in this emerging sector.
