2 Director, Dr Helmut Mayer, speaks with Oriel Morrison about his journey to building Australia’s first hydrogen-powered plane.
The purchase orders are worth around EUR 2 million, and the equipment is slated to arrive in late 2022 or early 2023.
Vynova, a leading European PVC and chlor-alkali manufacturer, has opened a cutting-edge hydrogen-fired steam boiler system at its Tessenderlo, Belgium, facility. A second, identical steam boiler will be installed by the end of the year. Vynova’s Tessenderlo production location will minimize CO2 emissions by 10,000 tonnes per year thanks to both boilers. A total of more than 8 million euros has been invested on the project. Vynova manufactures a variety of base chemicals in Tessenderlo, which are utilized in the building industry, the medical field, the food business, and for water purification. Hydrogen is obtained as a by-product of the…
Aqualia is leading this initiative, in which Norvento Enerxia, Repsol, Naturgy, Redexis, Perseo, Técnicas Reunidas and Reganosa are also participating, together with the city of Algeciras (Cádiz). Its objective is to produce green hydrogen, from vegetable waste and wastewater, in sufficient quantity to cover the energy needs of the entire national railway network. Zeppelin is financed by NextGenerationEU funds. The Zeppelin project aims to produce up to 135,000 tons of green hydrogen using waste from different sectors, such as agri-food, and to promote the circular economy, as well as helping to create skilled jobs in rural areas threatened by depopulation.…
The Korea Railroad Corporation said that it had inked an MOU with KHNP to expand collaboration in hydrogen convergence projects on idle sites.
H3 Dynamics will develop and supply fuel cell powertrain solutions, while Universal Hydrogen will provide green hydrogen fuel logistics using its modular capsule technology.
Bavaria will acquire the first hydrogen train for pilot tests on Bayerische Regiobahn lines starting in mid-2023, according to Siemens.
The study shows that Hysata’s ‘capillary-fed electrolysis cell’ can produce green hydrogen from water at a cell energy efficiency of 98 percent, far exceeding the International Renewable Energy Agency’s (IRENA) 2050 target and significantly better than existing electrolyzer technologies, resulting in a hydrogen production cost of less than A$2/kg (US$1.50/kg).
MITECO (Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge, Sain), opens four aid programs for the innovative renewable hydrogen value chain with 250 million that will boost technical knowledge and productive capacity through the development of technological advances and prototypes along the hydrogen value chain, as well as test facilities and new manufacturing lines. The program for large electrolyzers will have 100 million, the demonstration and validation of hydrogen vehicles with 80 million, industrial and experimental research with 40 million, and the promotion of capacities and technological advances in test lines and manufacturing with 30 million.
