Iraq’s Ministry of Oil announced a deal with Siemens to create hydrogen. The ministry stated in a statement that it is in discussions with Siemens about ways to begin depending on renewable energy, particularly hydrogen production, which would pave the way for the country to achieve its objective of 100% green energy. Equinor and SSE Thermal have awarded two significant contracts for work on the Aldbrough hydrogen storage project. The contracts were won by engineering firm Atkins and sustainability consultancy Environmental Resources Management (ERM). The Victorian Government has announced a funding commitment of more than $7 million for renewable hydrogen experiments and studies, with the goal of growing the sector and reducing emissions.
