Does Eindhoven-based DAF have the egg of Columbus when it comes to driving on hydrogen? The truck maker produced an innovative prototype. But more is needed to drive through Europe without releasing CO2. It appears like a completely typical diesel truck running the rounds on DAF’s test circuit in Sint-Oedenrode. But it may be a stunning innovation. This month, the truck maker from Brabant revealed its first with an internal combustion engine that truly operates on hydrogen. Without hazardous emissions. And without the intricate architecture that competitors are experimenting with. As a ‘clean’ fuel, hydrogen is experiencing increased interest from…

Green hydrogen, according to a Goldman Sachs study, may supply up to 25% of the world’s energy needs by 2050 and grow to a 13 trillion euro market. However, before then, the issue of hydrogen storage and transportation must be resolved. Only CO2-free hydrogen produced through renewable energy sources is long-term sustainable. However, it will be some time before enough hydrogen is available to fulfill expanding demand. This is due to a scarcity of green electricity. Among the numerous alternative manufacturing techniques available today, the most popular is the manufacture of blue or gray hydrogen from natural gas. Numerous industrial…

This strategy is consistent with India’s audacious goal of carbon neutrality by 2070. For household, commercial, and industrial use, the government intends to blend 15% green hydrogen with piped natural gas (PNG). This decision is consistent with India’s ambitious targets for greenhouse gas reduction and carbon neutrality by 2070. This effort is part of the government’s National Hydrogen Energy Mission, which aims to generate hydrogen using only renewable energy. Earlier this year, Power Minister R K Singh announced the government’s intention to bring green hydrogen under the renewable purchase obligation (RPO), which requires bulk buyers such as Discoms and captive…
