Several of the manufacturer’s existing systems have been certified to operate with a 20% hydrogen gas blend as part of an optional accreditation process. Remeha has gained optional third-party certification to ensure that a range of its existing boilers can operate on a gas blend containing up to 20% hydrogen. The industrial and medical gases company Carburos Metálicos, part of the Air Products group, has participated in a test carried out with the Zaragoza City Council in Spain, which studied the circulation and refueling of a hydrogen bus. New Zealand’s first green hydrogen plant has begun commercial operation. Halcyon Power created the 1.5 MW green hydrogen plant in Taupo, which is powered by electricity supplied by the adjacent Mokai geothermal power station. Halcyon Power is a 50/50 cooperation between Tuaropaki Trust and Obayashi Corporation of Japan.
