China just needs to enhance the pace of use of renewable energy sources while avoiding a drop in the amount of wind and solar energy resources utilized to develop a “new energy system.”

Brazil is leading the way in renewable energy with the commissioning of a solar production plant at the FURNAS-owned Itumbiara hydroelectric power project on the border between Minas Gerais and Goiás. The firm, which has a capacity of 1 MW, has two sets of photovoltaic plates, one on the ground and one floating over the reservoir water.
