The Department of Science and Innovations (DSI) and partners have given the project the thumbs up in their Hydrogen Valley Feasibility Study Report. The feasibility study, which was conducted in collaboration with Anglo American Platinum, clean energy solutions provider Bambili Energy, and energy and services business ENGIE, estimates that a hydrogen valley may generate up to 32,000 employment per year by 2030. Equinor, Norway’s largest oil and gas company, has announced a new billion-dollar investment plan in the development of blue hydrogen. On the Oslo Stock Exchange, Equinor’s stock climbs 3.9 percent to NOK 224.30. Equinor, of which the Norwegian government owns 67 percent, is one of several European energy firms that sees hydrogen energy as a way to tackle climate change.
