H2 Green Steel (H2GS) will be a large-scale steel producer based on a fossil-free manufacturing process targeting large European OEMs. H2GS will be located in the Boden-Luleå region in northern Sweden that offers unique conditions for fossil-free steel production. The project includes a giga-scale green hydrogen plant as an integrated part of the steel production facility. DEME Offshore has been awarded an Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Installation (EPCI) contract for the foundations at Parkwind’s Arcadis Ost I offshore wind farm. The XXL monopiles will be the largest ever installed in Europe with a weight of around 2,000 tonnes each. The Arcadis Ost I wind farm is developed by the Belgian offshore wind specialist Parkwind and has a capacity of 257 MW. Snam and Hera have signed a Letter of Intent for a technological collaboration aimed at developing hydrogen, for their own areas of activity. Siemens Gamesa has been awarded the firm order from the EDF Renewables-Enbridge-wpd consortium for the 448 MW Courseulles-sur-Mer offshore wind power project. Located 10 km off the Bessin coast, the project brings the total capacity awarded to Siemens Gamesa by the consortium in France to approx. 1 GW.
