Vestas has received a 39 MW order for an undisclosed project in Italy. The contract includes the supply and installation of eleven V136-3.45 MW wind turbines delivered in 3.5 MW Power Optimised Mode, as well as a 15-year Active Output Management 5000 (AOM 5000) service agreement. Turbine delivery is scheduled to take place in the second quarter of 2021, while commissioning is planned for the fourth quarter of the same year.

Tees Valley Mayor Ben Houchen has confirmed plans to build an offshore wind manufacturing site at Teesworks, generating 9,000 jobs and achieving a significant milestone. Planning permission has been approved for 4.5 million sq ft of industrial space on the site of the former SSI steelworks in Redcar, which would also generate 1,000 construction jobs over the eight-year construction program. Fugro has been awarded three geotechnical investigation contracts for IJmuiden Ver, the largest offshore wind farm (OWF) zone to be built in the Dutch part of the North Sea. The first turbine has been successfully installed at ACCIONA’s Mortlake South wind farm. Fugro has opened a new remote operations center (ROC) in Abu Dhabi, which is already providing successful remote and autonomous solutions to customers in the Middle East and India (MEI) regions.
