Altus Power has completed the acquisition of a 2.5 megawatt solar project in Charlotte, Vermont. The acquired project produces approximately 3 million kilowatt hours of electricity per year. This project sells electricity to VEPP, a not-for-profit Vermont company that operates two of Vermont’s renewable energy projects under a contract with the Vermont Public Utility Commission. “We are pleased to add this operating asset to our growing national portfolio of distributed generation solar assets. Cypress Creek Renewables developed 162 MW Wagyu solar PV project in Brazoria County, Texas is now delivering power to the grid. The project is owned by Cubico Sustainable Investments (Cubico) and is located near Houston, Texas. The construction of the project was carried out by RES (Renewable Energy Systems). In addition to serving as the original project creator, Cypress Creek also provides Wagyu with ongoing operations and maintenance and asset management. CorPower Ocean has been awarded a 10-year TUPEM license by the national Directorate-general for Natural Resources (DGRM). The license provides a permit for the private use of the maritime space up to 12 miles off the coast of Aguçadoura in northern Portugal. AGL is developing a grid-scale battery in South Australia, as part of plans to roll-out 850 megawatts (MW) of energy storage capacity across the National Energy Market (NEM) by FY24. Hydrogen Renewables Australia (HRA) has agreed to partner with Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) on its 5000 MW Murchison renewable hydrogen project located near Kalbarri in the Midwest of Western Australia. The Murchison Renewable Hydrogen Project is a large-scale (up to 5000 MW) export-oriented green hydrogen project located at the 126,000-hectare Murchison House Station and will be powered by combined wind and solar power generation and desalinated water. According to data collected by the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA), project developers expect more than 23 GW of wind turbine generation capacity to come online in the United States in 2020 significantly more than the previous record of 13.2 GW installed in 2012. PKN ORLEN has started onshore geological surveys along the connecting route of its proposed offshore wind farm. The work will help to delineate an underground cable route to evacuate electricity from an offshore farm to an onshore power station. The measurements will be carried out in the municipality of Choczewo, where the transmission system will be installed. All of the wind farm’s power generation in the Baltic Sea will be extracted underground, both along the offshore and onshore parts of the connecting path. Community Windpower has submitted proposals for a new wind farm that would offer a major boost to Green Recovery in Southern Scotland and enable the region to resolve the climate emergency. Scoop Hill Community wind farm, located entirely in Dumfries & Galloway, will receive £1.8 billion of economic investment that will be felt in the regional economy, including employment and community benefits, in support of Green Recovery. Arizona Public Service Company (APS) has entered into a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Leeward to purchase wind power from Leeward’s two Aragon wind plants. The PPA was the outcome of a Wind Request for Proposal in September 2019. This PPA allows Leeward to sell 200 megawatts of wind power to APS over a period of 20 years through the regeneration of Leeward’s current 90-megawatt Aragonne wind project and the development of its 145-megawatt Aragonne Mesa wind project. Vestas has received a 50 MW order for the Sandy Knowe wind project from ERG, one of the leading wind energy operators on the European market.
