ENERCON has signed a contract with TRUNGNAM Group to deliver its new E-160 EP5 E2 for the Ea Nam wind farm. The collaboration will begin this year with construction. ENERCON is supplying its new E-160 EP5 E2 for what will be the country’s largest wind farm in the future. The Nordex Group has received orders for 271 wind turbine systems with a total capacity of 1.228,6 MW in the third quarter of 2020. The Delta4000-series turbines with an output range of 4 to 5 MW accounted for 86 percent of the orders. In the first nine months of 2020 , the total order intake of the Company (excluding its services business) amounted to 3,758.5 MW (9 M 2019: 4,738.7 GW), with the Delta4000 series playing a dominant position at 81 percent. Babcock & Wilcox, through its B&W Renewable division, has signed a strategic partnership agreement with Eos Energy Storage to sell and operate the patented Eos Znyth zinc battery solution for industrial and utility energy storage. Under this arrangement, B&W subsidiary Babcock & Wilcox Company will market and offer this battery technology to its customers worldwide and B&W subsidiary Babcock & Wilcox Construction will act as Eos’ sole preferred technology installation provider in the U.S. and Canada. Copenhagen Offshore Partners (COP) has opened an office in Edinburgh, Scotland, which will serve as the global floating offshore wind competence center. The French solar leader has won three projects, including one in the Paysde-la-Loire region as part of the government’s solar invitations to tender. These projects are located in Montoir de Bretagne, in Loire-Atlantique (44), on the land of Nantes Saint-Nazaire Port. Tocardo has acquired the 1.25MW Oosterschelde tidal power plant, the largest tidal array in the world installed on the Dutch icon Oosterscheldekering. The acquisition follows the successful technical due diligence phase during September 2020. The Oosterschelde tidal power plant consists of five T-2 tidal turbines in one of the sluice gates of the Oosterschelde storm surge barrier, with the potential of scaling up. Australia could create $63 billion in new investment opportunities over the next five years by strengthening climate targets and policies to achieve net zero emissions by mid-century, according to new economic analysis. The analysis also finds that, under this scenario, private investment will accelerate to 2050, with hundreds of trillion dollars in opportunities generated by renewable energy, green hydrogen, manufacturing, electrified transport and carbon sequestration. Tilt Renewables has carried out the necessary engineering investigation following a blade detachment incident on a single turbine at the Dundonnell wind farm. An assurance test protocol has also been established to enable unaffected turbines to be gradually returned to service in a safe manner. Tests and inspections on 25 turbines have already been completed and are now completely operational.
