Energiekontor sold its Boddin wind farm. The wind farm is a single-unit Nordex N149 style project with a capacity of 4.2 MW. The contract for the project was awarded at 6.20 ct / kWh in the tender on 1 October 2019. The Boddin wind farm will be erected at a site of the same name in the district of Prignitz (Brandenburg) and is currently expected to be operational by the end of September 2021. The construction of the Moray East offshore wind farm came a step closer as Siemens Energy, the lead contractor for the 950MW project, completes the onshore cable installation. The onshore cable, which begins near Banff, Aberdeenshire, takes the offshore power from the three 220 kV subsea cables and transmits it to the new onshore substation in New Deer, where it connects to the grid. The European Marine Energy Center (EMEC), Orkney, Scotland, will deploy an Invinity Energy Systems 1.8 MWh flow battery at the EMEC tidal energy test site on the island of Eday. For the first time in the world, the project would combine flow battery technology with tidal power to generate continuous green hydrogen. Pacifico Renewables Yield has signed an agreement to purchase a 15.6 MW onshore wind farm in Germany from a subsidiary of New Energies Systems (Mayen, Rhineland-Palatinate), a non-affiliated project development company. The wind park is currently at an advanced stage of construction and is scheduled to be completed in early 2021. Voltalia has signed a share purchase agreement to acquire a 70 percent controlling interest in the portfolio of four solar power plants (57 megawatts) installed, operated and partially developed by Voltalia in Jordan since 2015. Backed by the recent establishment of its solar hub in Egypt and the long-term local presence as a service provider, Voltalia is becoming a power producer in the increasing Jordan market. European Energy has received greenlight from the Aabenraa municipality for its plans to build the biggest solar farm to date in Northern Europe. With an output of 300 MW, the project is the largest to date in Northern Europe and will contribute an annual reduction of some 110,000 tons of CO2 emissions. SN Power has signed a binding agreement to purchase 100 percent of the shares of the 39.4 MW Dam Nai wind power joint stock company in Vietnam from Mekong Wind Pte, which is wholly owned by the Singapore-based Armstrong South East Asia Clean Energy Fund. Crown Estate Scotland has confirmed the final process and timelines for ScotWind Leasing going forward. Following the launch of ScotWind Leasing in June 2020, Crown Estate Scotland will issue the Post-adoption Addendum to ScotWind Leasing on Friday 15 January 2021, which will confirm the final arrangements for the submission of applications. However, Crown Estate Scotland will be able to provide clarity in response to requests for certain final arrangements after that time and up to the nearest closing date for applications.
