Ørsted, DEME Offshore and Siemens Gamesa have successfully completed the installation of 94 turbines at Ørsted’s Borssele 1 & 2 offshore wind farm in the Netherlands. The first turbine was installed in April 2020 and the turbine installation process was completed less than five months later. Eos Energy Storage (Eos), a manufacturer of safe, low-cost and long-lasting zinc hybrid cathode (Znyth) battery energy storage systems, has entered into an agreement to supply 500 MWh of integrated AC battery energy storage (BESS) to Carson Hybrid Energy Storage (CHES). SSE has agreed to sell its non-operating stake of 25.1 percent in Walney offshore wind farm to Greencoat UK Wind (UKW), subject to a completion process that it expects to take place soon. The stake is equal to a power of 92MW, and a gross valuation of £350 million. The selling of Walney marks the first step of SSE’s disposal plans. Mainstream Renewable Power has reached financial close for the second phase of its fully-owned and fully-contracted 1.3 gigawatt Andes Renovables wind and solar power generation platform in Chile.
