Eesti Energia has signed an agreement (PPA) with the Lithuanian wind energy company E energija to buy all the renewable energy generated by the future wind farm in ten years time. This is the largest such transaction in the Baltics in history. The latest E energija Telšiai 68.9 MW wind farm, to be launched in 2022, will generate 235 GWh of renewable energy per year, which will cover nearly 80.000 the annual energy use of households. OPDEnergy has closed of a $103 million financing for two of its wind farm landmark projects in Chile. The financing was given to Opdenergy by Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC). The funds obtained will be allocated to the construction of the La Estrella wind farm, located in the Bernardo O’Higgins area of Libertador General and the Sol de los Andes PV plant in the Atacama area. One of the world’s largest offshore construction vessels has arrived at the site of the EDF Renewables and ESB owned Neart na Gaoithe (NnG) offshore wind farm, 15km off the Fife coast, as the project enters its first phase of offshore construction.
