On behalf of the Australian Government, the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) has allocated $8.2 million in funding to Tesla Motors Australia (Tesla) to deploy residential battery and rooftop solar systems at 3000 properties owned by Housing across Adelaide. As part of South Australia’s Virtual Power Plant (SA VPP), Tesla will install 5 kW of roof solar and 13.5 kWh of Powerwall battery on each property at no cost to the tenant. EDF Renewables has pledged its trust into Hitachi ABB Power Grids to build four substations to connect three new wind farms near Ustka, Parnowo and Gorzyc in Poland. Hitachi ABB Power Grids will deliver three 110/20 kV power substations for three new wind power plants that it is building in Northern and Western Poland. Van Oord’s heavy lift vessel Svanen has successfully installed the final foundation for the Danish Kriegers Flak offshore wind farm in the Baltic Sea. A total of 72 monopiles were transported floating from Rostock, Germany, directly to the offshore site. The transition pieces were transported on barges from Aalborg, Denmark. Vattenfall awarded the transport and installation of the foundations for Kriegers Flak offshore wind farm to Van Oord. Mitsubishi Power has started a new council named “Kobe/Kansai Hydrogen Utilization Council” with the intention of developing hydrogen utilization practices and establishing a hydrogen supply chain in the Kobe/Kansai area.
