Brazilian National Electric Energy Agency (ANEEL) closed the first half of 2020 with a total of 3,003.41 MW released for commercial operation in plants located in 12 states of the country. With this power, it would be possible to supply a city with approximately of 3.6 million inhabitants. As a result, the target for new plants for the period was exceeded – which was initially 2,936.43 MW. In June alone, 141.47 MW went into commercial operation – almost three times more than that scheduled for the month, which was 54.84 MW. In 2020, the highlights have been solar and wind…

It is customizable with features including customized credit card payment terminal, screen and cables, which have also been…
The UK Government has published the ‘UK research and development roadmap’ setting out the government’s vision and ambition for science, research and innovation. Responding, Morag Watson, director of policy at Scottish Renewables, said: “We welcome the commitment of the UK Government to invest in research and development in technology such as zero-emission vehicles, hydrogen and carbon capture use and storage, which will help in tackling climate change. “The UK’s remarkable marine energy resource means we currently lead the world in the development of technology to capture clean energy from the sea, but despite our world lead both tidal stream and wave power are…
The second call of the Interreg Atlantic Area funded Blue-GIFT (Blue Growth and Innovation Fast Tracked) project has recommended five ocean energy companies for support to deploy their technology in the Atlantic Area region. This completes the second of three calls for applications in the Blue-GIFT project. The Blue-GIFT project, coordinated by the European Marine Energy Centre (EMEC), based in Orkney, Scotland, aims to help Atlantic Area companies test their marine renewable energy technology in real sea environments and prove that power can be economically generated from the Atlantic Ocean. The 1st and 2nd calls of the project have so…
Vattenfall has been awarded development consent to build Norfolk Vanguard offshore wind farm. The consent was awarded by the Secretary of State for Business, Energy, and Industrial Strategy. Located more than 47 km from the Norfolk coast and with an installed capacity of 1.8GW, Norfolk Vanguard will supply the equivalent energy needs of 1.95 million UK homes each year, thus saving 3 million tons of carbon dioxide emissions. “We’re delighted to receive planning consent for Norfolk Vanguard. This decision justifies the confidence that we have in the offshore wind sector in Britain, and we’re looking forward to developing the project…
Vestas has received an order from French renewable energy developer Valeco for three wind projects in France totaling 42 MW. The contract involves the supply and installation of eight V100-2.0 MW wind turbines delivered in 2.2 MW Power Optimized Mode and eight V117-3.45 MW wind turbines in 3.0 MW operating mode, as well as service agreements for Active Output Management 5000 (AOM 5000) designed to maximize energy production for the sites. The company did not disclose the name and location of the projects. Delivery and commissioning of the turbines is planned for the first half of 2021.
Canadian Solar has launched Series 5 and Series 6 PV super-high power modules. These new modules are to join the portfolios of HiKu, BiHiKu and HiDM, extending the range of high-power , high-efficiency monofacial and bifacial solar modules. Series 5 portfolio – HiKu5, BiHiKu5 For a more powerful PV module, HiKu5 and BiHiKu5 can use Canadian Solar’s LeTID (light-and elevated temperature-induced degradation) mitigation technologies and power classes up to 500 W. The HiKu5’s LeTID is 50 percent lower than the industry norm, available in both monocrystalline and polycrystalline cells. Improved module efficiency, high power classes and leading PV module technology…
