The Nordex Group has received an order for the supply and installation of nine N149/4.0-4.5 turbines for the Finnish Kokkoneva project from its main client, ABO Wind. The turbines will be delivered in 4.8 MW mode of operation. The contract also includes the turbines’ premium service contract for a 15-year term with an option to extend it to 25 years. Wood has won two contracts for solar engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) from an American power and energy corporation worth more than $200 million. Wood was chosen through an competitive tender process and will be responsible for generating a cumulative capacity of 190 megawatts for two large solar projects in the U.S. state of Virginia. The first project is a 120-megawatt solar facility in Pittsylvania County, expected to be operational in 2022. MARIN and Royal IHC have completed the T60-18 service operation vessel (SOV) dynamic positioning (DP) assessment tests at MARIN’s basins in Wageningen, The Netherlands, marking an significant milestone in the autonomous SOV project. IHC has developed technology for the project (partly funded by a subsidy from TKI Wind Op Zee), which will enable one of its SOVs to safely maneuver through an offshore wind farm and provide access to the turbines. Vestas has received a 336 MW order for the Escalade wind project in Texas, USA from the Taaleri SolarWind II fund and co-investors, AIP and Akuo Energy, which will feature the first Enventus platform turbines in the USA. Vestas has secured another order in Poland which will see it supplying the Elblag (Krasin) wind project with V110-2.0MW turbines. The project developed by KGAL Investment Management in northern Poland will comprise 16 V110-2.0MW turbines deployed in 2.2MW Power Optimized Mode with 120 meter towers in combination with a 25-year Active Output Management 5000 (AOM 5000) service agreement. MHI Vestas supplier Tien Li Offshore Wind Technology (Tien Li) has started construction on 210.000 square meter facility in Taichung Harbor to supply blades in Taiwan. Tata Power Renewable Energy has received a letter of award from Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam (GUVNL) to develop a 120 MW solar project in Gujarat. The energy will be supplied to GUVNL under a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA), effective for a period of 25 years from the scheduled commercial operation date.
