Elogen, a subsidiary of the GTT group, has joined forces with Valmax Technology Corporation to design and manufacture a cutting-edge Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM) electrolyser.

This 2.5 MW electrolyser, with a daily hydrogen production capacity of 1 ton, will play a crucial role in a mobility demonstration project in Pyeongchang, South Korea. The collaboration between Elogen and Valmax marks a major stride in the production of green hydrogen in South Korea, aligning with global efforts to combat climate change and embrace low-carbon energy solutions.

Green hydrogen, produced through PEM electrolysis using renewable energy, has emerged as a clean and versatile energy carrier with the potential to revolutionize various industries. As countries worldwide seek to reduce their carbon emissions and transition towards sustainable energy, green hydrogen has become a key element in the quest for a greener future.

Elogen, a leading player in the energy industry and a part of the GTT group, has teamed up with Valmax Technology Corporation to propel the adoption of green hydrogen in South Korea. The collaboration agreement, signed in May 2022, paved the way for the development of advanced electrolysers to meet the growing demand for green hydrogen production in the region.

The highlight of the partnership is the state-of-the-art Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM) electrolyser with a power capacity of 2.5 MW. This sophisticated electrolyser will be locally assembled by Valmax, integrating the balance-of-plant of Elogen’s advanced technology. Once installed in Pyeongchang, in the province of Gangwon, in 2025, the electrolyser will have the capability to produce 1 ton of hydrogen per day, providing a sustainable and clean energy source for the mobility demonstration project.

Both Elogen and Valmax are dedicated to promoting global sustainability by participating in projects that align with climate-friendly initiatives. The success of this collaboration sets a precedent for further international ventures that focus on reducing carbon emissions and embracing renewable energy solutions. As the demand for green hydrogen increases across the globe, the partnership aims to play a leading role in environmental protection, fostering sustainable industries, and providing innovative energy solutions.

As the world shifts towards renewable energy sources, green hydrogen is poised to play a pivotal role in shaping a sustainable future. The Elogen and Valmax partnership not only strengthens green hydrogen production capabilities in South Korea but also sets a benchmark for international cooperation in the pursuit of a greener, more energy-efficient world. With a focus on cutting-edge technology, scientific credibility, and environmental responsibility, this collaboration represents a promising step towards a low-carbon, hydrogen-powered future.

The joint venture between Elogen and Valmax heralds a new era of green hydrogen production in South Korea, offering innovative and efficient solutions for a sustainable future. With the PEM electrolyser project taking center stage in a mobility demonstration project, the partners are paving the way for the widespread adoption of green hydrogen in the country and beyond. As global efforts to combat climate change intensify, this pioneering collaboration showcases the potential of green hydrogen as a key enabler of a low-carbon economy and a greener, cleaner world.
