Everfuel Gets a Follow-up Order from WSW

A follow-up order was given to Everfuel to expand capacity at the German bus terminal in Wuppertal.

Everfuel reports that WSW mobil GmbH has given the company a follow-up order for expanded capacity and scope for the upcoming heavy-duty hydrogen fueling station in Wuppertal, Germany.

Following a pan-European procurement process, WSW mobil GmbH selected Everfuel GmbH to build the hydrogen filling station that will supply a fleet of fuel cell buses used for public transportation. The station is scheduled to open in April 2022. The announced follow-up deal includes more hardware and related services.

As a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Danish business Everfuel A/S, Everfuel GmbH was established at the beginning of 2021. This is the third contract for a hydrogen fueling station for fuel cell buses that the company has received in Germany.

Wuppertaler Stadtwerke’s Andreas Meyer, Head of Vehicle Technology, stated: According to our requirements and in line with our ambitious objectives to run an increasing number of hydrogen fuel cell buses, we are glad to expand the hydrogen infrastructure at our bus depot.

“With Everfuel, we have the ideal partner to help us achieve our objectives of a bus fleet with zero emissions. Up until this point, the Everfuel team has done an outstanding job of meeting our objectives. It made sense to intensify the team effort in Wuppertal to create a sustainable public transportation system.

Everfuel GmbH’s managing director, Lars Jakobsen, stated:

The follow-up order demonstrates how WSW and Everfuel continue to work well together.

It’s a joy to collaborate with a partner who is a market leader in Germany and across Europe for hydrogen and fuel cell buses. It’s a nod to the ambitious Everfuellers team that has been working on the project across all departments, and we are pleased and glad to deepen our partnership with WSW.

At least 20 fuel cell buses can be refueled at the station each day. With the follow-up purchase, the capacity rises and effectively adds redundancy to the system while also giving WSW the option to add more buses if needed.

By 2030, WSW mobil GmbH expects to scale up to 150 fuel cell buses. Everfuel is now constructing WSW’s second hydrogen filling station at the WSW depot Hölker Feld in order to fulfill these ambitious development goals.
