Fortescue Future Industries (FFI) urged the shipping industry as a whole to embrace a net zero 2040 target while providing technical leadership in large shipping to support the target.
In the next year, FFI’s Green Fleet Team will work with MMA Offshore Limited to convert the 75-meter vessel “MMA Leveque” to run almost entirely on green ammonia.
Only long-standing practices in the shipping industry stand in the way of global progress toward carbon-neutral shipping before 2040.
The MMA Leveque is part of a larger fleet of trucks, locomotives, and ships operated by Fortescue Metal Group, all of which are transitioning to green fuels.
