Lhyfe and Atmen Create Digital Product Passports for Hydrogen

Lhyfe has partnered with Atmen to create digital product passports (DPP) for hydrogen.

These passports aim to enhance traceability and transparency throughout the hydrogen supply chain. By utilizing blockchain technology, the DPPs will store critical data about the hydrogen’s origin, production process, and environmental impact. This initiative aligns with the European Union’s regulations on supply chain transparency and aims to boost consumer confidence in hydrogen’s sustainability. Establishing digital product passports also supports inter-company collaboration by providing a standardized platform for information exchange. Ultimately, this partnership seeks to increase hydrogen’s role in achieving global decarbonization goals.

In an effort to advance the hydrogen supply chain, Lhyfe and Atmen focus on enhanced traceability and transparency. The digital product passports will serve as comprehensive records containing details about hydrogen production, including the source of energy used and associated carbon emissions. By offering detailed insights, these passports make it easier for companies to comply with environmental regulations and for consumers to make informed decisions.

The completion of the digital passports will help increase transparency, allowing consumers to verify the sustainability credentials of the hydrogen they use. Knowledge about a product’s environmental footprint is increasingly significant for consumers, and these digital passports aim to meet that demand.

This initiative supports upcoming European Union regulations that require more transparency across supply chains. The digital product passports align with the EU’s goals to reduce carbon emissions and increase the adoption of sustainable energy sources. Ensuring that each step of the hydrogen production process is well-documented allows for easier regulatory compliance and contributes to reaching broader environmental objectives.
