LONGi Hydrogen wins the Sinopec Green Hydrogen Demonstration Project to supply world-leading large-scale ALK electrolysis equipment only one year after its founding.

The project is the world’s largest green hydrogen project to date and China’s first to exceed 10,000 tons.

This project will invest up to RMB 3 billion to construct a new 300MW photovoltaic power plant and an electrolytic water hydrogen production facility in order to generate 618 million kWh of green electricity and 20,000 tons of green hydrogen annually.

The project is expected to be completed and put into operation in June 2023, which will lower annual CO2 emissions by 485,000 tons and assist the China Oil & Gas industry in meeting its emissions and decarbonization goals.

LONGi Hydrogen will deliver world-leading large-scale water electrolysis equipment with a 4 to 1 electrolyzer – gas-liquid separation devices system in order to produce 4000Nm3/h of hydrogen. The system is designed and validated to offer industry-leading performance in terms of high current density, low power consumption, and small footprint, which will assist in effectively reducing costs. The load response time of the system is measured in milliseconds, and the equipment is compatible with IGBT power supplies, allowing for ideal adaptation to large-scale hydrogen generation from a renewable energy source.

Li Zhenguo, founder and president of LONGi, stated that LONGi Hydrogen electrolysis equipment has been demonstrated to be dependable, secure, and cost-effective in hydrogen generation. The corporation will continue to enhance R&D expenditures in order to advance technological and product innovation. The capacity of the LONGi ALK electrolyzer will reach 1.5GW by the end of 2022 and 5GW by the end of 2025, as a result of the installation of digital and intelligent factories.
