The town of Düren has issued a tender titled “Wasserstofftankstelle Bus Bahnhof Düren Nord – Lose 1 und 2” for the construction of a hydrogen fueling station at the North Bus Station.

Published on September 27, 2024, this tender is open for submissions until November 30, 2024. This development is a significant step forward for the hydrogen industry as it aims to expand the hydrogen infrastructure supporting public transportation in Germany.

The main objective of this tender is to establish a hydrogen fueling station at the Düren Nord Bus Station. This project is divided into two lots. Lot 1 covers the construction and installation of the hydrogen fueling infrastructure, while Lot 2 focuses on the technological framework and safety measures necessary for the operation of the station. The project aims to facilitate the use of hydrogen-powered buses, contributing to a reduction in carbon emissions and promoting cleaner public transportation solutions.

Interested contractors must demonstrate experience in constructing hydrogen fueling stations or similar infrastructures. For Lot 1, bidders must provide design plans, construction timelines, and strategies for ensuring minimal disruption to the existing bus station operations. For Lot 2, submissions should include detailed descriptions of the safety protocols and technological systems they intend to implement to ensure safe and efficient fueling operations. Proposals must also comply with EU regulations on hydrogen safety and transportation standards.
