Henri Poupart-Lafarge, the CEO of the French railway firm Alstom, stated that the business is already working on installing hydrogen trains in Spain, a cutting-edge non-polluting technology that may be developed with the support of Next Generation European funding.
Poupart-Lafarge voiced his belief that Spain, which has a digital center for the corporation, maybe one of the first nations in the world, after Germany, where this technology works during his participation in the ” Wake Up Spain ” discussion, hosted by the daily El Espaol.
The Coradia iLint is the world’s first passenger train to use a hydrogen fuel cell to generate electrical energy for propulsion. This zero-emission train is completely quiet, emitting only water vapor and condensation water.
Alstom is committed to fighting climate change, which has been a major concern for the society for decades, and the firm is working to achieve sustainability as a result, according to the management.
The railway is one of the least polluting modes of transportation available, and “the only one that is electrified,” which is why effort must be made in this area, since “transport accounts for 25% of CO2 emissions.”
Regarding the inflationary environment and price increases, Poupart-Lafarge has said that they have no direct influence, despite the fact that they do affect component costs.
