Deutsche Bahn plans to replace all of its 1,3000 diesel locomotives with hydrogen-powered trains by 2050. This is the goal of the H2goesRail project, which aims to pioneer clean transportation. Green Hydrogen Systems has confirmed that it will supply electrolysis equipment to H2goesRail. The Siemens train will be fueled with hydrogen using a GHS HyProvide A90 electrolyser with a 0.5MW output. Once the electrolyser site is completed in 2024, a green hydrogen production capacity of approximately 71,000 kilograms per year is expected.

The US Department of Energy’s Title XVII Innovative Energy Loan Guarantee Program has given Monolith conditional approval for a $1.04 billion loan, which will allow the company to expand its commercial facilities in Hallam, Nebraska. The Olive Creek plant will be expanded by a factor of ten, increasing annual output from 5,000 tonnes of turquoise hydrogen derived from natural gas with low greenhouse gas emissions to nearly 50,000 tonnes. Travancore Cochin Chemicals (TCC) is poised to become a major supplier of hydrogen, the future fuel. The government has established a State Hydrogen Mission and announced plans to purchase ten hydrogen-powered buses, signaling a shift away from traditional fuels and toward more sustainable alternatives. Vattenfall is working on a hydrogen demonstration project called Hydrogen Turbine 1 (HT1) at the Aberdeen Offshore Wind Farm in Scotland, which involves installing hydrogen production equipment on a wind turbine.
