The release of the Danish government’s new Power-to-X (PtX) and hydrogen strategy has been eagerly anticipated by the team at Everfuel. The strategy will play a significant role in making green hydrogen competitive and reduce the Danish CO2-emissions. Last night the Danish Government launched their PtX and hydrogen strategy with the ambition of significantly contributing to CO2-reductions in Denmark. As a first step toward becoming a European leader in PtX and green hydrogen and in the transformation of difficult-to-abate industries, the strategy is critical for Denmark. Green hydrogen and platinum tetrafluoroethylene (PtX) are highlighted in the new strategy as critical…

Europe’s three major gas transmission system operators (TSOs), Enagás (Spain), Snam (Italy) and GRTgaz (France), have signed an agreement to collaborate on clean hydrogen projects.
Enova has granted Yara NOK 283.25 million to develop a green ammonia initiative. The Herya ammonia plant in Porsgrunn has now taken its first official step toward decarbonization.
After signing an MoU with Egypt’s Suez Canal Economic Zone to study the development of new green ammonia project, Scatec met with Egypt’s government to discuss its green hydrogen plans. If everything goes as planned, Scatec and SCZone hope to build a large-scale facility that can produce hydrogen from renewable sources, which they call “green hydrogen.” Just two months ago, Scatec announced a firm project to build an electrolysis plant in Egypt with a 100 MW electrolysis capacity for green hydrogen production. The Sovereign Fund of Egypt and Fertiglobe plc, a nitrogen fertilizer producer and exporter, collaborated with Scatec on…
Ukraine will be able to become completely self-sufficient in its energy needs thanks to the development of hydrogen energy. Ukrinform quotes President Volodymyr Zelensky as saying this during a plenary meeting of the Eastern Partnership summit on December 15 in Brussels. According to Zelensky, three of the Eastern Partnership summit’s flagship initiatives are of particular importance to Ukraine. Checkpoints and border infrastructure are the first thing to be modernized in this plan. Ukraine will greatly benefit from the EU’s assistance in this matter. Zelensky emphasized the significance of reaching an agreement on road transport liberalization in this context. Second, says…
Hydrogen Fuel Cell Bus developed in India by Sentient Labs has been launched. Collaboration with CSIR-NCL (National Chemical Laboratory) and CSIR-CECRI (Central Electrochemical Research Institute) led to the development of the Hydrogen Fuel Cell Technology. Earlier, Sentient announced the world’s first technology for producing hydrogen directly from agricultural waste for use in fuel cell-powered vehicles. This is the latest in a string of initiatives aimed at promoting environmentally friendly modes of transportation. For example, Sentient Labs designed and built the Balance of Plant, Powertrain, and Battery Pack entirely in-house in addition to their hydrogen fuel cell technology. A 9-meter, 32-seater,…
A new green hydrogen refueling station for heavy vehicles has been awarded to Calvera Industrial Group, which will be located in the Comunidad de Madrid. Energy producer HVR Energy has awarded the contract for the supply of service station, which includes storage up to 500 bar pressure, compression system, and dispensers, to a third-party service provider. It’s part of a plan to install fuel cell mobility solutions for heavy vehicles in a large area of Madrid’s urban district. For the fourth quarter of 2021, the company will include the contract’s value, which has not been disclosed. The final trimester of…
Using high-purity phosphate concentrate from Arianne’s Lac à Paul project in the Saguenay–Lac–Saint-Jean region of Quebec, Arianne Phosphate is collaborating with the University of Quebec at Three-Rivers (“UQTR”) to evaluate its suitability for electrolyzers that produce hydrogen for use in hydrogen fuel cells. The proton exchange membrane (PEM) in electrolysers that produce hydrogen for use in fuel cells is the focus of UQTR’s work. The mass production of electrolysers is currently beset by three major issues: poor performance, poor durability, and high costs. In order to address these issues, current research is focusing on using phosphate-based materials in the electrolyser…
In the race to supply clean hydrogen to Europe through the Port of Rotterdam, a new study found that South Australia’s world-class renewable energy resources will give the state a competitive advantage. There is preliminary evidence that South Australian hydrogen could supply up to 10% of Rotterdam’s hydrogen needs by 2050, according to a pre-feasibility study. By 2050, hydrogen demand in Rotterdam is expected to rise to 18 million tonnes per year. SA and Rotterdam signed an agreement earlier this year to examine whether clean hydrogen produced in SA can be shipped into Europe’s largest port, Rotterdam. Energy and Mining…
The Commission has adopted a set of legislative proposals to decarbonise the EU gas market by facilitating the uptake of renewable and low carbon gases, including hydrogen, and to ensure energy security for all citizens in Europe. The Commission is also following up on the EU Methane Strategy and its international commitments with proposals to reduce methane emissions in the energy sector in Europe and in our global supply chain. The European Union needs to decarbonise the energy it consumes to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by at least 55% by 2030 and become climate-neutral by 2050, and these proposals will…
