SSE Renewables’ proposed 30.5MW Lenalea onshore wind project in Co. Donegal, a 50/50 joint venture project with Coillte Renewable Energy, has received the green light for development after it provisionally won a contract for low carbon power in Ireland’s first competitive auction for onshore wind. The provisional results of the first round of Ireland’s new Renewable Electricity Support Scheme (RESS-1) are subject to Irish Government approval with the final results due in September. Enel Green Power Spain has connected a 51 MW wind farm to the electricity grid in the town of Motilla del Palancar, in the Cuenca province. The investment associated with this project amounts to €51 million and it will reach an annual production of 144 GWh, avoiding the emissions of approximately 95,000 tonnes of CO2 per year. Ørsted has selected Reygar’s BareFLEET remote monitoring and reporting platform to track and analyse the performance of its chartered fleet of Crew Transfer Vessels (CTVs) operating across wind farms in Europe. The Vomela Companies has installed a solar array at its new corporate headquarters in Saint Paul, Minnesota. Roughly 3,400 panels have been installed, producing up to 1.3 megawatts of DC energy. That’s enough energy to power 200 typical MN metro homes and will provide for roughly a third of total annual energy usage for the facility.
