Optima Life Science, an industry leader in web processing technology, is hard at work on a test converter made with cutting-edge fuel cell manufacturing techniques in mind. Accordingly, the state of Baden-Wuerttemberg provides a sizable amount of money to the corporation. A modular test converter is in the works at the firm. This allows for the rapid and simple implementation of novel concepts, process improvements, and product enhancements. Fuel cell manufacturing techniques of the future will be tested in a prototype setting before being implemented in full scale production systems. There is no foreseeable end to the need for modifications…

Since there is now substantial backing for renewable energy, green hydrogen, and zero-emission mobility, First Hydrogen has announced that it will speed up its green hydrogen ambitions for the US market. In light of the recent passage of the historic Inflation Reduction Act, the company has launched First Hydrogen Energy (USA) and First Hydrogen Automotive (USA). The law allocates $369 billion for combating climate change and increasing energy production. U.S. fleet clients will soon be able to purchase the company’s hydrogen fuel-cell cars. The Inflation Reduction Act is viewed as a crucial piece of policy assistance that will lead to…
Medha Servo Drives, a major rail system integrator, recently placed an order for fuel cell modules from Ballard Power Systems to power the country’s first hydrogen-powered trains with Indian Railways. Two diesel-electric commuter trains will be upgraded with Ballard’s latest fuel cell technology, the FCmoveTM-HD+, which will be installed with eight separate 100 kW modules. To get started on the route to realizing their net-zero aspirations, Indian Railways awarded the contract to provide the hydrogen-powered trains to Medha. Shipment of the fuel cell modules is anticipated in 2023, with trains entering operation in 2024; subsequent retrofits are possible. Given that…
Chariot is teaming up with Total Eren of France to advance the Nour green hydrogen project in Mauritania. An agreement for a 50/50 joint venture with a renewable energy expert based in Paris has been reached, and detailed feasibility studies for developing the Nour project will soon get underway. As a group, they might examine additional prospects in the green hydrogen sector in other African nations. The cooperation will gain from Total Eren’s specialized knowledge in solar, wind, hybrid, and green hydrogen projects worldwide, and Chariot has stated that it will “co-lead” on project development and permitting, local content, and…
SunHydrogen unveiled an early version of the layout for the prototype of their nanoparticle-based green hydrogen technology. “Within an individual SunHydrogen panel, billions of microscopic nanoparticles are splitting apart water at the molecular level to produce hydrogen and oxygen,” said SunHydrogen’s Chief Scientific Officer Dr. Syed Mubeen. With great attention, SunHydrogen’s prototype design incorporates the company’s unique catalysts, light absorber, and membrane integration assembly. In order to facilitate mass production, the panel housing is made from lightweight, stable, modular materials. The design also makes the most of available sunlight during the day to produce hydrogen while using as little water…
H2Carrier and Statkraft will investigate the usage of H2Carrier’s one-of-a-kind green ammonia floating production vessel, the P2XFloater, in selected offshore wind areas. This new study’s objective is to assess the effectiveness of the P2XFloater in a real offshore setting. The project will evaluate the difficulties associated with running electrolyzers and an ammonia production process under changeable load conditions offshore. The P2XFloater will use renewable energy to generate green ammonia and green hydrogen, which can then be exported to foreign markets. The Norwegian engineering firm KANFA and its parent business Technip Energies will perform the study alongside H2Carrier. The P2XFloater concept…
The MAHLE technology group is showcasing its thermal management solutions for fuel cell peripherals used in all kinds of electrically-driven vessels at SMM in Hamburg, a specialized trade expo for the maritime industry. They are able to run completely emission-free since they use hydrogen that has been created in a carbon-neutral manner. MAHLE’s over 10 years as a serial supplier for fuel cell technology on roads means that their technology can be easily adapted for maritime applications. “The advent of fuel cells heralds a brand-new era in maritime transportation. Ships powered by this innovation are not only more environmentally friendly…
The JCOI / PTX fund will help Cleanergy Solutions Namibia, a partnership between CMB.TECH and the Ohlthaver & List (O&L) Group, build a hydrogen pilot plant and refueling station on the coast of Namibia.
Over the next eight years, China’s fuel cell vehicle output will soar. By 2030, China is expected to sell more than two million fuel cell vehicles, a 200-fold increase from current levels. Fuel cell vehicles, one of the three new energy car kinds made in China, use hydrogen energy to power their own onboard fuel cells. When the National Development and Reform Commission released a plan on the development of hydrogen energy for the years 2021–2035 in March 2022, it was the first time that hydrogen energy was positioned as an essential component of the future national energy system and…
Hydrogen Europe has sent a letter to Ursula von der Leyen, president of the European Commission, expressing concern over provisions of the future Renewable Energy Directive II (RED II) legislation that are detrimental to the development of a leading hydrogen market in Europe. Hydrogen Europe brought up Article 27.3 of RED II, the Delegated Act (DA), which specifies the requirements for the production of renewable hydrogen. The letter claims that the DA, as written, will undermine the EU’s efforts to advance green hydrogen and that its regulations are “disproportionate,” leading to “European renewable hydrogen that is insufficient for the industry…
