Hazer Group has provided update on the progress, cost and schedule of the Hazer Commercial Demonstration Project (CDP) being constructed at Water Corporation’s Woodman Point Water Recovery Facility. Universal Hydrogen and ACIA Aero Leasing have signed a letter of intent for an additional 20 conversion kits of various turboprop types expected to be purchased with the option to place 10 firm orders for Universal Hydrogen’s ATR 72 conversion kits by the ACIA. The ATR72 and the De Havilland Canada Dash-8 will be the first regional aircraft to be converted to hydrogen power using a conversion kit being developed by Universal Hydrogen in an effort to speed up the market adoption of hydrogen in aviation. As part of an Indo-Pacific supply chain for renewable hydrogen, the Japanese government has agreed to fund a pilot project co-developed by Maurubeni Corp to export the zero-emission fuel from South Australia. As part of their joint efforts to develop a hydrogen engine for two-wheeled vehicles, Kawasaki Heavy Industries and Yamaha Motor have begun preliminary research. Honda Motor and Suzuki Motor Corp. are expected to join them in the future. One of Australia’s leading companies, Xodus, and the metals manufacturing company Unique Metals, have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) that aims to help the country achieve its goal of net-zero emissions.
