In regards to future intentions to create routes for express air freight in Latin America and Europe, Flapper has signed a statement of intent with Destinus. To more effectively and sustainably link the world, the companies have agreed to work together on a mission. Destinus will allow for the transfer of precious and essential items at speeds five times quicker than the fastest commercial airplane of today. In addition, the airplane will use hydrogen as its fuel, which will result in zero carbon emissions. About 30 percent of Flapper’s revenue comes from its cargo division, which facilitates the global shipment…
To ensure a reliable supply of electricity in Germany, the German government, Uniper, and Fortum have signed an agreement in principle that would give the government full control of Uniper. After the deal closes, Fortum will be able to dispose Uniper and return its attention to its main business, which is the generation of clean electricity in the Nordic countries. It supersedes the original Uniper stabilization agreement, which the same parties signed in July 2022. Uniper has lost about EUR 8.5 billion on gas alone, and it can’t keep operating as a privately held corporation while still meeting its key…
By 2030, thanks to new US tax credits, green hydrogen-generated electricity will be competitive in price with gas-fired power. One US consulting firm estimates that this is feasible if renewable hydrogen production costs can be kept to no more than $3/kg. As reported by ICF International of Virginia, the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) of August, which introduced and extended tax credits for clean hydrogen and renewable energy, could make it economically viable to generate dispatchable electricity by burning green hydrogen with combined-cycle gas turbines (CCGTs). By 2030, a green hydrogen CCGT power station may have superior economics than wind and…
California Fuel Cell Partnership becomes Hydrogen Fuel Cell Partnership to serve whole US
Formerly known as the California Fuel Cell Partnership, the Hydrogen Fuel Cell Partnership now serves the whole United States (HFCP).
Grovwareselskabet Vestjyllands Andel is collaborating with Evida and GreenLab to construct the first piped hydrogen infrastructure in a test area.
Following Armonia Green Sevilla’s request for an administrative concession to construct and commission a green ammonia processing and dispatch facility fueled by renewable hydrogen in the Torrecuéllar Industrial Estate, APS has initiated the project competition process.
The decision-makers in Hamburg have made it their mission to position the Hamburg Metropolitan Region at the forefront of the hydrogen economy.
TPP “Bobov dol” was granted permission to build a photovoltaic park for the generation of renewable hydrogen. The facility can run on this fuel with no worry about polluting emissions. The facility now runs on coal and biomass, although efforts are underway to broaden its fuel base. A thermal power plant slag dump near the town of Kamenik will become a photovoltaic park covering an area of around 1,400 decares. The solar panels, supporting structures, and other components required have all been ordered from the chosen provider. The shipments will start in the month of November. By 2025, the entire…
Indiana and seven other states are working together to grow the hydrogen industry’s consumer base, supply network, and available workforce. The governors have signed the Midwest Hydrogen Coalition Memorandum of Understanding to increase hydrogen generation in the region. Increases in hydrogen production can have many positive effects on society, as outlined in the MOU. These include assisting existing firms in remaining competitive and inspiring the launch of entirely new ventures. Other states include Illinois, Iowa, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio, and Wisconsin. Using a multi-state and multi-sector approach, the alliance nations will coordinate the construction of a regional hydrogen ecosystem over…
Smoltek Nanotech’s Hydrogen business department has achieved tremendous progress on their 2022 electrolyzer cell material. Smoltek plans to produce a high-performance cell material for electrolyzers, which split water into oxygen and fossil-free hydrogen using renewable electricity. Smoltek’s carbon nanofiber-based cell material is intended for the anode side of PEM electrolyzers, a market developing exponentially due to global expenditures in green hydrogen production. The three-dimensional structure of the cell material boosts current density, reducing electrolyzer size by a factor of three and iridium usage by 80%. This makes it cheaper to develop additional hydrogen plants, which is vital for the expansion…
