Two Hyzon-600HP 58t hydrogen-powered trucks will be delivered to Golden Bay Cement in September 2022. The New Zealand cement producer has taken another step toward reducing its carbon footprint by leasing the trucks from TR Group. Hydrogen fuel cells produce electricity by combining hydrogen with oxygen. Water vapour is the only byproduct. On a daily basis, this will save about a tonne of CO2. This truck fleet will be tested in the Auckland area by Golden Bay Cement first, before the company considers a wider rollout as fueling stations become more readily available.
The Douglas County PUD will soon have access to an additional 409 acres near its hydrogen production facility and the Wells Dam hydroelectric power plant in the vicinity. For a total of $4.9 million and $7 million, the PUD commissioners have approved the purchase of properties totaling nearly 92 and 318 acres from C&O Nursery Company and Global Ag Properties USA, respectively A leaseback agreement with C&O Nursery Company and a boundary line adjustment were also approved by the commissioners, along with a leaseback agreement with Zirkle Fruit Company on the 318-acre parcel of land. When the PUD wanted to…
To attract Chinese investment in Namibia’s green hydrogen project, President Hage Geingob has been courting the country’s business community in China. When asked about the possibility of Chinese companies participating in government initiatives to boost China’s economy, outgoing Chinese ambassador Zhang Yiming said, “We’re open to it.” “We just discussed new cooperations, like in the green hydrogen project. The president is very keen and looking forward that capable Chinese state-owned enterprises, which have the latest technology in green hydrogen come to invest or partner with Namibian companies to participate in the green hydrogen project,” Zhang said. Zhang assured Geingob that…
Work has begun on a new coating facility at TFP Hydrogen Products’ North American headquarters in Schenectady, New York. Adding this line will help keep up with the burgeoning demand for green hydrogen, where our coatings improve the efficiency and durability of PEM water electrolysers, lowering the cost of producing it. David Hodgson, Managing Director of TFP Hydrogen Products, comments that: “The incorporation of this specialised technology in Schenectady as well as the UK is an important step in the growth of TFP Hydrogen. It will provide the necessary capacity increase to respond to the increasing demand for our materials,…
Malaysian power generation and industrial equipment provider Daiden Equipment has signed a preliminary strategic agreement with Advent Technologies, a leading innovator in the fuel cell and hydrogen technology sectors. In a statement, Daiden said it intends to distribute Advent’s SereneU fuel cell products as a distributor. As a result, Daiden’s clean power generation sources will be better promoted, and the country’s ongoing transition to green energy will be strengthened. Several SereneU fuel cell units from Advent have already been shipped to Daiden for evaluation and testing. Daiden and Advent will determine the best strategy for introducing Advent’s methanol-based fuel cells…
One of the world’s leading hydrogen fuel cell manufacturers, Loop Energy, has signed an agreement with a Swiss company that develops stationary power systems, Innotest AG. For the first time, Loop Energy’s eFlow technology will be used to power buildings in Europe. To be used in its Home Power Energy System, Innotest has committed to purchasing a Loop Energy S300 (30 kW) fuel cell system. The Home Power Energy System from Innotest is designed to be installed in homes and businesses to provide heat and electricity. As a result of its ability to meet Innotest’s unique and strict performance metrics,…
The North County Transit District has been awarded a $4.8 million federal grant to assist in the purchase of eight hydrogen fuel-cell-powered electric buses. By 2025, the transit agency hopes to have a fleet of 25 of these zero-emission vehicles. Fuel cells produce electricity by combining hydrogen gas with oxygen in the air and emitting only water as waste. Because a fully equipped bus costs $1.3 million, the agency will purchase all eight vehicles with its own funds. NCTD has already been awarded a $1.7 million grant to build a hydrogen bus fueling station.
HRS, a European designer and manufacturer of hydrogen refueling stations and a pioneer in hydrogen mobility, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Burckhardt Compression. HRS and Burckhardt Compression plan to strengthen their partnership by collaborating on the development of high-capacity hydrogen refueling stations for the heavy-duty mobility market (buses, trucks, and ports), as well as light-utility vehicles (taxi fleets) and future opportunities. Hydrogen-Refueling-Solutions (HRS), formerly TSM, is a pioneer in hydrogen mobility, having been founded in 2004. The Company has been committed to reducing transportation emissions for over ten years as a European designer and manufacturer of hydrogen refueling…
Hydrogen is seen as a key component of the global plan to achieve a net-zero future. To combat climate change, Tenaris is committed to lowering its carbon footprint and developing a portfolio of energy-related products. Tenaris’ line pipe technology team has conducted an experimental activity to qualify medium and large diameter pipes up to X70 grade for high-pressure gaseous hydrogen transportation with a hydrogen content of up to 100 percent at 200 bars in support of these actions. Pressurized pipelines are considered a relevant solution for transporting molecular energy from the point of production or storage to the point of…
