Corvus Energy is set to start development and production of sustainable, large scale maritime-certified hydrogen fuel cell systems. Production will be located in Bergen, Norway with Toyota onboard as key partner and supplier of mass-produced fuel cell technology. Corvus is spearheading a collaboration with Norwegian partners Equinor, shipowners Norled and Wilhelmsen, ship design company LMG Marin, the NCE Maritime CleanTech cluster and R&D institution the University of South-Eastern Norway (USN) to develop and produce modularized and cost-effective PEM (Proton Exchange Membrane) fuel cell systems for the international marine market. The project has received €5.2 million in funding from state agency…
Ballard Power Systems has received orders from Solaris Bus & Coach for 10 Ballard FCmove fuel cell modules to power 10 Fuel Cell Electric Buses (FCEBs) in the Netherlands. Ballard plans to ship the modules in 2021. Ballard fuel cell modules will power 10 Solaris Urbino 12 hydrogen buses planned for deployment with Arriva Nederland in the Province of Gelderland, the Netherlands later in 2021. These will replace diesel buses currently in service and are expected to cumulatively travel over 1 million kilometres per year. Each of the single decker Solaris Urbino 12 hydrogen buses is 12 meters long, has…
ACCIONA has developed GreenH2chain, the world’s first platform based on blockchain technology that guarantees the renewable origin of green hydrogen. This new tool will also allow clients to verify the transportation and delivery process of this type of clean energy. With GreenH2chain, ACCIONA’s customers will be given access to a digital platform that will allow them to verify and visualize the entire green hydrogen value chain in real time and from anywhere in the world. This technological solution will allow renewable hydrogen consumers to quantify, record and monitor the decarbonization process of their own energy supply. In addition, GreenH2chain provides…
Prysmian Group has selected Tekmar Energy’s Generation 10 Cable Protection System (CPS) to protect export cables on the Saint-Nazaire offshore wind farm. The project’s entire subsea cable system will be protected with Tekmar Energy’s patented CPS technology. Saint-Nazaire is a 480MW offshore wind farm located off France’s Atlantic Coast and owned by EDF Renewables and Enbridge. It is the first commercial-scale wind farm installed in French waters. The latest generation of Tekmar Energy’s TekTube CPS will be deployed to protect the wind farms subsea export cables, whilst 160 TekLink systems will protect the array cables. The CPS will be delivered…
Equinor and bp have completed their transaction, whereby Equinor has sold a 50% interest in both the Empire Wind and Beacon Wind assets on the US east coast for a total cash consideration of around USD 1.1 billion excluding customary purchase price adjustments. This transaction is the first step in the strategic partnership in offshore wind where Equinor and bp are combining strengths to enable profitable growth in offshore wind in the US. Equinor will remain the operator of the projects in these leases through the development, construction and operations phases, and the wind farms will be equally staffed in…
Getech has signed two exclusive strategic partnerships, which together position Getech at the forefront of work to establish a national network of hydrogen generation, storage and retail hubs. Exclusive strategic partnership was signed with H2 Green which is focused on establishing a network of large-scale hydrogen generation, storage and refueling hubs to support public and commercial transport fleets. The strategic partnership includes an exclusive option for Getech to acquire H2 Green for total consideration of up to ÂŁ1 million, with payment terms structured around commercial and financial performance milestones and with a material equity component to align H2 Green management…
A network of 13 regional hydrogen technology clusters has been unveiled across Australia as part of a drive to establish a nationwide hydrogen cluster. With $1.85 million to be invested in the clusters, the network will foster a multi-billion dollar, globally competitive hydrogen industry. Spearheaded by NERA, the national cluster (which would operate as a virtual network) will establish a global identity and a recognized brand for Australian hydrogen technology and expertise. It will also aid the development of the hydrogen supply chain, reduce overlaps and identify gaps in the development, deployment, and commercialization of new hydrogen-focused technologies. The establishment…
Loop Energy has signed a Memorandum of Understanding and Commercial Agreement with ECUBES – a developer of hydrogen electric systems for stationary power applications based in Slovenia, Europe. The agreement contemplates deliveries in excess of fifty Loop Energy eFlow fuel cell modules to ECUBES over a two-year period. Under the terms of the agreement, Loop’s high fuel-efficient fuel cell modules will be integrated with ECUBES proprietary Thermal Green Hydrogen Energy Storage solution HYDROGENIUM, storing energy in solid matter with no pressurized vessels for hydrogen. Systems are designed to be supplied to a range of European customers including the European Defence…
GebrĂĽder Weiss has added a hydrogen truck to its fleet of vehicles. Instead of using diesel, the Hyundai XCIENT Fuel Cell model delivered to the Altenrhein branch in Switzerland runs on “green hydrogen,” meaning that this commercial vehicle can save around 80 tons of CO2 emissions per year. “The coronavirus pandemic has diverted attention away somewhat from the climate change challenge, yet the logistics sector is continuing its work with manufacturers to find alternative ways of powering vehicles. With our first hydrogen truck’s arrival, GebrĂĽder Weiss has once again demonstrated that it also takes a leading role when it comes…
The first turbine at Vattenfall’s Kriegers Flak offshore wind farm is in place and will deliver the first fossil-free electricity shortly. It will be the largest offshore wind farm in Denmark. On 27 January, the tower, nacelle and blades were installed for the first turbine at the Kriegers Flak offshore wind farm in the Baltic Sea. “We are proud that the first of many turbines at Kriegers Flak is now in place and ready to produce electricity. We expect that households and industry one of the coming days will receive the first fossil-free electricity from the turbine. It is an…
