On Thursday evening, everything revolved around hydrogen mobility in Brake. Together with the organizer EWE, the district of Wesermarsch invited experts to a hydrogen day in and around the district hall. The Hydrogen Day with around 40 expert participants is part of a roadshow through the northwest, on which the energy service provider EWE and vehicle manufacturers inform about possible applications of the green gas. The focus of various presentations was on hydrogen mobility with the corresponding infrastructure and the applications in load and individual transport as well as in public transport. “Hydrogen-powered public buses, refuse collection vehicles and passenger…

The North Jutland energy business Eurowind Energy plans to establish five huge land-based energy centers in Denmark during the next few years. The total capacity of the five energy centers will be around 2.5 GW. The first will be Energipark Aalborg, located at Nordjyllandsvaerket in Aalborg, which will be complemented by power generated by turbines in Brønderslev Municipality. The other three projects are Nørrekær Enge II in the municipalities of Vesthimmerland and Aalborg, Energipark Overgaard in the municipality of Randers, and Energipark Gasse Hede and Vollum Enge in the municipality of Tønder. Eurowind Energy has reached agreements with the landowners…
Tangshan generated 6% of the world’s steel output and 13% of China’s steel in 2021.
Hydrogen Power Generation Solutions (HPGS) and Landmark Power Holdings (LPH) have signed the first phase of an agreement for the placement and operation of HPGS’s unique Electro Hydrogen Generators, which will produce hydrogen to aid in the production of electricity for grid stability. HPGS, a company founded in 2014, has created the only hydrogen electrolyser capable of creating GREEN hydrogen by utilizing waste heat, pressure, and inertia derived from natural-gas-powered generators. No other electrolyzer is capable of this, as all other hydrogen-producing devices require electricity. Mark Gilmore, the company’s COO said,“What is most exciting about the HPGS solution is that…
The recently introduced “Hydrogen Innovation Scheme” will give financing support until 2026, as part of the Scottish government’s commitment to invest £100 million in the developing hydrogen sector. This program is intended to assist and encourage new and established enterprises to enter the hydrogen market, thereby driving the burgeoning green hydrogen sector. Many view hydrogen as the straight substitute for methane, the primary component of natural gas and the fuel we rely on to heat our houses. Combustion of hydrogen produces only water vapor, as opposed to natural gas, which discharges damaging greenhouse gases into the atmosphere. Green hydrogen is…
Elon Musk appeared to mock Bill Gates on Thursday on the concept of green hydrogen by tweeting a laughing emoji. The Whole Mars Catalog posted a screenshot of a Bill Gates-promoted tweet declaring that ‘affordable, clean hydrogen would be a significant energy breakthrough,’ accompanied by the phrase ‘Bill Gates supporting hydrogen’ and a facepalm emoji. In response to this tweet, another user remarked, “Cheap, clean hydrogen would be a tremendous breakthrough; there are many applications for it.” If we could also bottle the tooth fairy, clone Santa Claus, and replace public transportation with unicorns, we would be in good shape.’…
Getech, a geoenergy and green hydrogen startup, has landed new contracts worth $2.15 million. These include sales of geoscience data and product renewals and expansions for the Group’s ground-breaking Globe knowledge base, which models the evolution of the earth over the past 400 million years. The agreements include a multi-product sale of $0.9 million to a worldwide critical minerals company. This is the largest deal Getech has ever received in the critical minerals industry. The marketed packages enable access to Getech’s extensive and cutting-edge proprietary geoscience data library. The Globe knowledge base synthesizes this data into a ‘digital twin’ of…
Green hydrogen trade can provide a low-cost alternative that diversifies energy imports and improves energy security, says new IRENA report.
Emerging Energy Corp (EEC), a German energy investment organization, has stated it is looking for a partner to conduct a green hydrogen feasibility study in Niger. The announcement follows the signing of an agreement between the government of Niger and the EEC for a green hydrogen commercial plan in February 2022 – with initial discussions commencing at the African Energy Week (AEW) in 2021 – and is regarded as the next step in developing a competitive hydrogen market in Niger. According to EEC, the firm seeks a skilled partner with experience in planning and technical and economic feasibility studies, who…
Indian power giant NTPC has solicited expressions of interest (EoI) from Indian and international enterprises for the establishment of a pilot project for electrolyzer-based hydrogen production. The deadline to submit Expressions of Interest is August 10, 2022. “NTPC is Inviting Expression of Interest from Indian/Global Company/their Consortium/Affiliates/Representatives for setting up a pilot project for production of part quantity of hydrogen using electrolyser technology, required for demonstrating hydrogen co-firing in one of existing gas plants of NTPC along with requisite storage, fuel cell for standalone microgrid and equipment for blending with cooking natural gas,“ said the notice inviting EoIs. It was…
