Nel Hydrogen Electrolyser AS, a subsidiary of Nel ASA, has obtained a purchase order from Ovako, a renowned European maker of engineering steel, for a 20MW alkaline water electrolyser. The electrolyser will be put in Ovako’s existing factory in Hofors, Sweden, which was the first in the world to heat steel prior to rolling and hot forming with hydrogen. Genevos has been selected as the marine fuel cell supplier for the £2.2 million HIMET (Hydrogen in an Integrated Maritime Energy Transition) project, which will trial a zero-emission auxiliary power solution on a RoRo ferry. The Arbikie Highland Estate Distillery near Montrose is one step closer to becoming net zero thanks to a £3 million government grant awarded to UK renewable energy company Locogen in collaboration with hydrogen technology specialist Logan Energy. LAVO welcomed the Queensland Government’s “Invest in Queensland” program’s funding announcement today to enable the construction of their hydrogen fuel cell technology manufacturing facility in Springfield, QLD. INOVYN has announced a collaboration with the Netherlands-based VT Group (Verenigde Tankrederij) to develop Europe’s first hydrogen-powered bulk liquid chemical barge. This is part of INOVYN’s ongoing goal to produce green hydrogen and to eventually phase out carbon-based energy, feedstocks, and fuel sources. The hydrogen-powered barge will transport INOVYN’s critical raw materials between its Antwerp and Jemeppe, Belgium, locations.
