This aims to increase the supply of hydrogen vehicles by removing one of the hurdles to entrance into the usage of hydrogen vehicles: the difficulty of charging.
The new Enabling Measures Roadmap for Green Hydrogen, developed by IRENA in collaboration with the World Economic Forum (WEF), will serve as a platform for furthering public-private communication.
Sindh Energy Minister Imtiaz Sheikh and Chinese Consul General Li Bijian both witnessed history in the making as the agreement was signed.
Alexander Gerbec, Chairman of ECUBES, said, “Turkey will become an indispensable energy country if it establishes a hydrogen corridor in the world.”
Hydrogen generated from renewable energy sources will account for 20% of Europe’s electricity consumption in 2050 and 10% globally, according to a report released by Norway’s Statkraft. Green hydrogen is created by splitting water molecules in electrolysers using a renewable electrical current. The gas is positioned as a low-carbon alternative to fossil fuels in industries that are notoriously difficult to decarbonize. According to Statkraft’s sixth annual Low Emissions Scenario study, European power consumption would reach slightly over 5,000 terawatt hours (TWh) in 2050, with green hydrogen production accounting for roughly 1,000 TWh, up from the present demand of around 30…

The developer of Australia’s largest clean hydrogen hub has agreed to pay $30 million to US manufacturer Babcock and Wilcox to build a biomass-to-hydrogen project at the site. As governments and business spend more in developing the nation’s nascent zero-emissions hydrogen economy, Port Anthony Renewables is bringing the technology of New York-listed Babcock and Wilcox for hydrogen production from waste timber to its hub in Victoria’s Gippsland region. “The Port Anthony area has always been a cornerstone of the offshore energy industry,” Port Anthony Renewables managing director Ben Anthony said. “This jointly developed Babcock and Wilcox project represents not only…
RWE and John Cockerill are collaborating on the construction of a testing facility in Germany that will optimize a critical stage in the process of converting domestic garbage to hydrogen. The facility, dubbed a torrefaction plant, will be constructed at RWE’s research center in Niederaußem (Germany), and will be used to evaluate the manufacture of waste-derived feedstock pellets for use in the company’s unique FUREC waste-to-hydrogen venture. RWE will invest €3 million in the pilot plant, which will begin operations in July 2022. The NESA Multi-Hearth furnace (MHF), a technology offered by John Cockerill Environment, is at the heart of…
