Plug Power and Lhyfe have established a collaboration to pursue and develop green hydrogen production plants across Europe. By 2025, the effort aims to create a total of 300MW of hydrogen and to begin construction of a 1GW production facility. The arrangement expands on the working partnership that the two companies formed earlier this year. Plug Power’s hydrogen electrolyzer technology will contribute 1MW of capacity to the world’s first offshore hydrogen production facility, developed by Lhyfe and powered by electricity generated by a floating wind turbine off the coast of Le Croisic. The facility will be located at SEM-REV, Centrale…
ZeroAvia is actively working on an airplane that will run entirely on hydrogen. Rotterdam-based ZeroAvia is part of the Royal Schiphol Group.
The production of green hydrogen plays a central role in the green transition, and the high gas prices make hydrogen more competitive, assesses the CEO of Aker Clean Hydrogen.
The ships will be turned into hydrogen ships in the same way as Future Proof Shipping’s first ship, De Maas, was.
This product has a smaller footprint, is easy to install and maintain, has a low investment cost, and has a greater degree of safety and automation, making it a milestone in the hydrogen sector.
Elogen, a GTT group firm, announced that its patented membrane electrolyser technology has been selected by Storengy to store green hydrogen generated by renewable energy sources as part of the HyPSTER project. Elogen will develop and manufacture the 1MW PEM (Proton Exchange Membrane) electrolyser, which will be installed at the Etrez facility in 2022. HyPSTER is a demonstration project for large-scale green hydrogen storage, coordinated by Storengy, Europe’s market leader in natural gas storage. Six other partners with complementary skills surround the company: INERIS, Armines / Polytechnique, INOVYN, ESK, Element Energy, and AXELERA. HyPSTER is the European Union’s first underground…
NYK Line, Japan Engine Corporation, IHI Power Systems Co., Ltd., and Nihon Shipyard Co., Ltd. announced that Japan’s New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO) has approved their participation in a demonstration project for the commercialization of vessels equipped with a domestically produced ammonia-fueled engine as part of the Green Innovation Fund project. The demonstration project, which is scheduled to begin in December with the addition of ClassNK to the Companies, aims to use ammonia as a fuel to significantly reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions during voyages and thus to introduce an ammonia-fueled vessel earlier than 2030 for the…
Researchers at Guwahati are creating cost-effective materials for solar-powered hydrogen generation from water. Solar energy is often regarded as the most promising of today’s clean and renewable energy sources. The innovative materials under development can divide water into hydrogen and oxygen using sunshine. “These materials are significantly less expensive than the ‘noble metals’ now utilized and may enable the development of cost-effective solar-powered hydrogen generators,” an IIT Guwahati spokeswoman stated. While conventional “solar cells” convert light directly to electrical energy, another form of sunlight-powered energy conversion system known as “PhotoElectroChemical” (PEC) cells has gained attention in recent years due to…
EY Canada’s new report, Canada’s hydrogen future — dangers and opportunities, in cooperation with The Canadian Energy and Climate Nexus, highlighted the significant opportunity presented by hydrogen. By 2050, the total Canadian yearly market potential might exceed $100 billion, supporting Canada’s objective of decreasing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions to 511 million tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent (Mt CO2 eq) by 2030 — down from 729 Mt CO2 eq in 2018. “The scale of this reduction requires a multifaceted approach to establish a clean-fuel energy mix that can continue to meet the country’s growing energy demands,” explains Lance Mortlock, EY Canada…
Desert Mountain Energy Corp. did more work on Well #2 and discovered helium and hydrogen in the previously perforated formation’s lower section.
