While hydrogen is a clean and sustainable fuel, electrolysis requires a high electric potential, high pH levels, and expensive metal catalysts to produce it efficiently.

Hyzon, a prominent global supplier of zero-emission hydrogen fuel cell-powered commercial vehicles, expects to supply HongYun with 49-ton hydrogen-powered tractor trucks, subject to the execution of a definitive vehicle supply agreement.

The project partners in the “Energiepark Bad Lauchstädt” project intend to look into the production, storage, transportation, and economic usage of green hydrogen in real-world settings on an industrial scale.

The state of Hesse has now approved a financial decision in the amount of 2.5 million euros, which covers 60% of the costs.
