The EDP Group has launched two units that will exploit the potential of green hydrogen and energy storage systems. Aker Clean Hydrogen, Tinn Municipality and Rjukan Næringsutvikling have signed an agreement for development of a hydrogen factory in Rjukan. The project will use access to hydropower locally to develop a hydrogen project with low life cycle costs (Levelized Cost of Hydrogen). The plant will have a capacity of 50 to 80 megawatts and produce green hydrogen for local marine transport such as passenger ferries in Eastern Norway. HyGear have signed a agreement with Rijngas in The Netherlands for the supply of hydrogen to a fuelling station in Amsterdam that is operated by Orangegas. This hydrogen fueling station is one of the first in Amsterdam and the sixth station in the country. Logan Energy has secured a public tender contract with the Welsh social enterprise Menter Môn to support the delivery of a hydrogen production plant, refueling and distribution hub in Holyhead, North Wales. In 2020, 107 hydrogen refueling stations went into operation worldwide, more than ever before. 29 new hydrogen stations were opened in Europe, 72 in Asia, and 6 North America. This is the result of the 13th annual assessment of H2stations.org, an information service of Ludwig-Bölkow-Systemtechnik (LBST). Naturgy has signed an agreement with Gestamp in order to secure the consumption of renewable energy in Spain. The agreement will ensure that from 2022 onwards, all the group’s productive facilities and R&D centers in Spain will operate with 100% renewable energy. The company becomes the first in the automotive sector in Spain to operate with electricity generated entirely from renewable sources.
