ENERCON has signed a framework agreement for 190 MW with the Italian energy group ERG for five projects in Italy and Great Britain. As part of the agreement, ENERCON will deliver a total of 46 E-138 EP3 E2 (4.2 MW) and E-115 EP3 E3 (4.2 MW) turbines to ERG’s subsidiary ERG Power Generation SpA over the next three years. The scope of delivery also includes transport, assembly, commissioning and servicing of the systems during the first operating phase. Enel Green Power has been awarded 34.5 MW of new renewable energy for two wind projects and 27.2 MW of repowering power for current hydroelectric plants at the fourth FER auction conducted by GSE (Gestore Servizi Energetici). In addition, for five solar projects on the roofs of Enel buildings, 0.83 MW of new renewable energy was awarded to Enel Green Power and Enel Produzione in the fourth FER register. The European Marine Energy Center (EMEC) is partnering with Highlands and Islands Airports (HIAL) to decarbonize heat and power at Kirkwall Airport using renewable hydrogen technologies. Supported by the Scottish Government through Highlands and Islands Enterprise, the project will see the construction and demonstration of a new hydrogen combustion engine by Doosan Babcock at Kirkwall Airport in Orkney in 2021. EDF Renewables has purchased 100 percent of EnterSolar, a national supplier of distributed generation solar systems for commercial and industrial (C&I) customers. EDF Renewables previously had a 50 percent stake in EnterSolar in a joint alliance announced in September 2018. As a wholly-owned subsidiary of EDF Renewables, EnterSolar will run as part of the Distributed Solutions Group and will benefit from improved financial flexibility and wider offerings, including electricity efficiency and smart electric vehicle charging. K2 Management has been awarded a four-year construction supervision contract for the first two phases of the world’s largest offshore wind farm development, Dogger Bank wind farm, which reached financial close in November. Statkraft, Aker Offshore Wind and Aker Horizons have signed a partnership agreement to explore prospects for offshore wind projects in Norway. The companies would combine their strong, complementary skills and experience to work together to explore the possibilities of building, running and supplying power from commercial offshore wind turbines in Norway.
