Australian Renewable Energy Agency’s (ARENA) has launched $71.9 million Future Fuels Fund as part of the 20/21 Federal Budget, aimed at addressing barriers to the roll out of new vehicle technologies. Tilt Renewables (TLT) has completed installation of Waipipi Wind Farm (WWF) turbines, located near Waverley in South Taranaki, New Zealand. Shoreham Port and H2evolution have started work on green hydrogen hub. A planning application will shortly be developed to establish a 20-megawatt electrolysis plant to the south of the Port’s lock gates. The hydrogen produced at Shoreham will be fully certified as green as it will be produced from a combination of captive renewable energy sources available at the Port and green energy, with guaranteed certificates of renewable origin, from the Grid. Royal HaskoningDHV has been appointed as environmental consultant by the NortH2 consortium of Shell Nederland, Gasunie, Equinor, RWE and support partners Groningen Seaports and Province of Groningen. Abengoa has completed the construction of the demonstration plant for the Grasshopper project, with the aim of producing sustainable power using hydrogen fuel cells. ENERGODATA has selected Leclanché (LECN) to provide its proprietary energy management software (EMS) along with a battery energy storage system (BESS) for a novel application in a natural gas-fired power plant in Levice. The Leclanché EMS and BESS will be installed in the Veolia gas power plant in Western Slovakia. ScottishPower has signed an agreement with Global Energy Group at its Port of Nigg site to identify processes and plant that could be powered by green hydrogen. BASF and EDF Energy North America have signed a 35 MW Wind Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) that will bring 25 MW wind power to BASF’s Verbund site in Freeport and 10 MW wind power to the Pasadena site.
