The European Marine Energy Centre (EMEC) has strengthened its partnership with ZeroAvia through the launch of the HyFlyer II project. EMEC will supply green hydrogen for the 19-seat hydrogen-electric aircraft development programme, to help make zero-emission flights a commercial reality. Vestas has entered into an arrangement with the investment management firm Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP), whereby Vestas will obtain a 25 percent minority interest in the parent companies of CIP. The stake will be purchased at a price of €500 million, in the form of an upfront payment of €180 million and a earnout of €320 million. GE Renewable Energy has been confirmed as the preferred turbine supplier for Dogger Bank C, the 1.2 GW third phase of the 3.6 GW Dogger Bank wind farm, a 50:50 joint venture between SSE Renewables and Equinor, that will become the world’s largest offshore wind farm when complete in 2026. Falck Renewables has purchased the remaining 30 percent of Big Fish SPV and Iron SPV from Canadian Solar Group. Solarcentury has received construction permits for three solar farms in Cádiz, Spain. Construction, which is scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2021, will require an investment of €75 million. Once completed, the projects would further improve the energy transition in Spain. The three sites, Arenosas, Malabrigo and El Yarte, will be built on a 350-hectare site and generate 305 GWh of renewable energy per year, enough to power 90,000 households. RES and Octopus Renewables have signed a three-year spares management contract which will see RES supply inverter spares for the clean energy investor’s solar assets in the UK. The agreement requires RES to own over 1000 spare parts that are compatible with Octopus Renewables’ inverter fleet and deliver these on-demand within a guaranteed time period.
