RWE is to sell its 19 small-scale hydropower station portfolios in France and Portugal as well as its small Portuguese onshore wind stake of 3 megawatts, representing a total capacity of 65 megawatts (pro-rata), to KELAG, an Austrian energy utility based in Carinthia (Kärnten). Under the terms of the deal, 16 employees will also transfer to KELAG. The power plants moved to RWE as part of its transaction with E.ON in 2019. Encavis Asset Management has implemented the acquisition of another German wind farm portfolio for the Luxembourg-based special fund Encavis Infrastructure II (EIF II). The special fund, which is offered exclusively by BayernLB and specially designed for banks and savings banks, is administered by the service KVG HANSAINVEST LUX. The four plants, located in the regions Northrhine-Westfalia, Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland, provide 41,000 households annually with green electricity and save 51,000 tonnes of harmful CO2. The Australian Smart Energy Council and the German Energy Agency (dena) have reached a historic agreement to work together on the production and certification of sustainable hydrogen, renewable ammonia and other renewable hydrogen-based fuels and materials. Seajacks Japan, a wholly owned subsidiary of Seajacks International, has been awarded a contract with Kajima Corporation for the transport and installation of 33 MHI Vestas V117–4.2 MW wind turbine generators in the Akita Port and Noshiro Port offshore wind farms in Japanese waters. The installation is expected to begin in 2022, when ‘Seajacks Zaratan’ will continue to be used for the project following the foundation’s installation campaign in the previous year. ENERCON handed over to Energy Infrastructure Partners (EIP) the first 25 wind energy converters of the 250 MW Markbygden Phase II North project before the scheduled end of the year deadline. To date, 47 wind energy converters have been installed at a wind farm in northern Sweden. Capstone Infrastructure Corporation has acquired 29 MW of operating wind projects, known as the Springwood, Whittington, Napier and Sumac Ridge wind facilities from wpd Europe Capstone purchased projects with a mix of equity and non-recurring project debt with MUFG Bank, Canada Branch and Associated Bank. Sembcorp Energy India Limited (SEIL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Sembcorp Industries (Sembcorp), has recently won a new 400MW solar power project. SEIL has won this bid through its renewables subsidiary, Sembcorp Green Infra, in a closely contested auction conducted by the Solar Energy Corporation of India. SEIL has received a letter of award from SECI for the construction of a project in Rajasthan, a region in northern India.
